am blessed that my deafness is not genetic and so far I have not
completely lost my hearing. Your daughter's case is more serious than
mine, and I fully understand the difficulty she will face. But I am very
sure she will be fine, and you should believe that "when life closes one
door, she will open another door for you". |

我们组前2个月面的一个PHD，top25左右的学校出来的，当了2年post doc，没找到
faculty。在我下面已经工作三周了。带这种PHD干活真的很郁闷。代码写的很一般，基
本没有模块化的概念，对一些小问题死扣，然后总来跟我争论。我告诉他那东西能work
就行，不重要，要注意整个project的进度，他非给我搞出一堆改进的方案，从实际角
度考虑根本不make sense，而且那些问题都是边角余料，用不着花什么功夫。这人总认
为自己什么都是对的，觉得念了PHD出来能力就有多强。说心里话，他每天搞的那点东
西基本没啥用，真正需要解决的问题他反而看不出来。跟他说，他还总是一套一套的逻
辑。
现在感觉书念多了真能把人念傻。什么是没用的，什么是有用的都分不清。social能力
基本没有，这样的人在微软一辈子也混不上来。现在真庆幸当初quit了PHD来业界找工
