even if you say there are about 3000 death from unknown firearms, if you
proportionally assign those between hand guns, rifles and shot guns, that
would add about a 100-150 or so to death by rifles. lets be generous and add
another 300 to rifles, that says rifles kill 600 a year.

I am not against developing. What I feel sad is it appears that we tend to
only look at current without thinking about future. The trend of our
developing is that we build now, 10 years or 20 years later we demolish
everything and build again. I feel that we just lack of the ability to

power wash which might damage the wood if setting too high, and painting by
yourself is a little labor and saftey involved
Patio cost is way too high for this size of area, let along the demolish
cost. Also if you have too many trees around, Patio on the even lower level
would see more moss growing up and become very slippery. |

，就现在做。
我们家的砖头墙全部重新做了（也就是把原来的扒掉），大概也就800 sqft，当时砖头
部分花了我整整$18K，而且包工头号称啥钱都没有賺到，好多活原来答应干的都不干了
，差点和他们闹上法庭。。。我在新泽西，这边破人工很贵。。。
我们用的是Glen Gery Molded bricks和他们的有颜色的mortar，光mortar就要六七百
，brick我记得是55分钱一块，大概是$2600的砖头。。。 |

yes. its normal case for island mounted range hood. any contractor should be
able to do it. its pretty simple. one hole in ceiling and another one in
outside wall. no need to demolish anything. My contractor did the whole
thing in 6 hours.

事故的缘由是这样的：

现在已经有保险公司指派的除湿公司来处理除湿了，他们把受影响房间的房顶（是wood
panel ceiling）全给掀掉了，拿掉了受潮的保温棉（干的他们没动，保险公司不让全
部换），墙壁的base board也给掀掉了，房间里几面墙壁的底部都给打洞。地上因为是
地砖所以没弄。
现在开了N多设备在吹热风，开了大功率的去湿器，要开3天。
plumber也来过了，过几天还回来，所以爆管的事可以fixed了。
接下去还有一步就是reconstruction, 也就是把demolished的部分都复原。
我想和保险公司要张check自己做，但我对费用没概念，所以想请教多少钱算是合理的。
房间大小是19x12, reconstruction 材料应该是（1）买新的保温棉，他们扒了大概1/4
到1/3的保温棉， （2）买新的wood panel, 原先的是 1" x 6" x 12'的整根wood

的涉及到shower faucet和tub faucet的安装，专业铺瓷砖的大部分不很懂得真确的转
装方法，所以你最好请一个plumber做这部分，我估价关于瓷砖和其他零碎活，3000 到
3500，plumber 350， labor总费用大约4000刀左右。 |

俺老就是不理解普通娃钻 prealgebra 牛角尖题目，固化定式那么多牛角尖型 naive
intuition，也不知道图个啥。（玩玩开心，培养兴趣的钻牛角尖玩，那不算。因为不
固化成定式）。等将来上 kinematics 和 calculus，那还得拆一遍 naive intuition
不是？Demolish 思维定势也花钱不是？搞不好还得定向爆破。。。
其实前阵子 AAPH 的 “每一圈上升一米” 的题目很能说明问题。你圆柱体搞得再刁钻
的 naive intuition，换成球体时，再用 naive intuition 的第一个问题，是题目都
不一定读得懂。后续的基于运动学、矢量代数、微积分等等的求解，还有数值积分时，
用基于建模的换元来改善被积函数的 condition 同时优化计算速度，就别提了。 |
