during or after installation. Go ahead and you will be
fine.
DNS only takes care of IP<-->Name mapping but NIS has more
maps specificly for Unix environment. For your case, I
guess DNS is a good start.
For Solaris as DHCP client, you will need to modify some
startup thing to get name resolved correctly. If you need
it to be server, I think a fixed IP is a good choice instead
DHCP. |

network. PC works fine and can ping solaris IP. However, Solaris can not ping
PC IP although it can access internet. Does anybody know what is going on? And
If I chose DHCP for solaris config, I can not change my host name which is
preset to unknow. But if I give it a fixed IP. I can change it. It is so
wierd. I would appreciate your kind helps very much. |

the so called router thing is typically a DHCP server plus a NAT server;
so the question is really whether Solaris 10 has a DHCP client; i would
be surprised if the answer is no. |

安装的时候有一个页面会问，是不是联网了，选择是，下一个页面就会问是怎样联网的，
其中有好几个选项，最后面一个（或者倒数第二个？记得不太清楚了）就是 DHCP 选项，
选它就可以了。
如果你选了别的，就会问你要nameserver的名字或者IP地址什么的。
Solaris 8 的时候应该也可以的呀？ 这种server/client的结构，据说就是sun发明的，
如果不把DHCP放进Solaris里去，真是很奇怪的事情了。 |

我在一台机子上用dnsmasq 提供dhcp和 tftp服务，每次启动之后dhcp server工作正常，
但tftp client老是说找不到tftp server,
必须 sudo /etc/init.d/dnsmasq restart之后才一切正常。
为什么tftp在dnsmasq一开始启动时没有被enable? |

跟这台机器相连的其他windows clients，把dns指向这台机器。但是在wins里面的选项
，如果diable netbios，那么机器的郁闷根本无法解析；但是如果将这个有关netbios
的设置设为default(use netbios setting from the dhcp server. if static ip
address is used or the dhcp server does not provide netbios setting, enable
netbios over tcp/ip),则域名可以正确被解析。不知道是什么道理。。 |

USB modem模式是比较理想的模式， 接好后跟普通接cable的路由器一样。两个频率的
wifi（2.4和5Ghz）有线都可以接入。而且不降低网速。
虽然网上有OpenWRT, DD-WRT, Tomato等固件的路由器接USB modem的帖子，但我试验成
功的只有OpenWRT。所以把OpenWRT用USB modem接zte pocket wifi的方法说一下。
第0步：如果你的路由器不是OpenWRT固件，去网上查一下能不能刷成OpenWRT固件，如
果能，按网上教程刷、如果不能，就另想办法吧。
如果已经是OpenWRT固件就按一下步骤设置：
第1步：将电脑用网线连到路由器的一个内网接口。打开浏览器，进入OpenWRT的luci界
面（缺省地址192.168.1.1）。可以根据需要修改lan的IP，要避开前面的router或

结果就死在那儿了, SSH也连不上了. 幸好按照这个步骤做了一个启动盘. 多谢多谢!!!
另外, samba和Cherokee都弄好了, 非常不错. 可惜OpenVPN还是有问题, client就是不
能通过OpenVPN server上网.
在openvpn给的sample .ovpn上添加或改动了:
server.ovpn:

push "route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0"
push "dhcp-option DNS 10.8.0.1"

client.ovpn:

client能够连上server, 就是不能tunnel Internet traffic. client是Win7 64bit or

做的，比如厕所总不可能有摄像头吧。
此外教委能通过网络存储朝阳幼儿园的监控倒是可以好好查查，首先看这个幼儿园
是否曾经出现在招标文件中，如果还没有做到直连教委就没办法了。如果已经建好了直
通教委，教委就该提供数据，没有能力提供或有又不给警方就是失职和隐瞒。至少是管
理问题。
另外那篇公众号文章说得也偏颇，如果朝阳幼儿园的监控摄像头是同轴电缆的，模
拟信号通过同轴线传到监控设备采集卡，多次关机不影响采集数据，没有设定ip的问题
，如果是数字摄像头，通过网线或光纤连到监控主机，除非是dhcp方式分配ip，但这个
基本不可能，大概率还是每个摄像头设置固定ip，重启找不到摄像头也不至于。 |
