得内疚的还是你们，真服了... 家里有个她怕的人/能震得住她的人没有？楼上那么多
人说天才什么的也没错，但是这孩子现在已经这么难管了，等到teenager那会儿你们怎
么办？等她自己grow out也是个办法，但万一人家不往那方面发展呢？做家长的还得把
牌握在自己手里啊。
另外你家娃明显不适用time out。关于misbehavior and discipline，建议读一读
Positive Discipline by Jane Nelsen，我本人从中受益良多。
说到Discipline，我平时算是比较宠孩子的，但原则问题上决不妥协。做错了事要承担
后果，他哭上一个钟头也得执行。他在那儿撕心裂肺地哭，我心疼归心疼，规矩还是得
做。他经常一边哭一边来抱我，那叫一个可怜，我还得狠狠心把他推开，等完事儿了再
给他抱。当然我家娃比较胆小，不敢跟我们硬抗到底，你家娃肯定要难对付得多。还有
，是不是孩子一哭老人就干涉？这个基本无解。。。 |

应的还好，说喜欢这个幼儿园。今天去接他的时候，老师说想跟我说几句。然后老师提
了些意见，说小娃不听老师的指令，对老师说no,希望家长教育。我当时对儿子很生气
，跟老师说了回去会严肃的跟儿子talk.
我儿子确实属于很淘气不太听话的那种，有时喜欢和大人对着干。我们骂过，time out
过，都是只管几天用。我们绝对不是特宠他娇惯他的家长。小孩实在是很strong
willed. 我知道在美国学校discipline非常重要。平时跟儿子反反复复说在学校要听老
师的话。看来收效不大。今天晚上回到家，我软的硬的都上了，儿子哭哭啼啼的说老师
让他们玩dress up的游戏，他不喜欢，就说了no,还有老师让他们玩Lego,他不喜欢，也
说了no.
我有点困惑了。如果孩子真的不喜欢某个东西或某样活动，作为家长，也要坚持让孩子
听老师的话吗。这样会不会抹杀孩子的判断力。什么叫discipline,听老师的话就叫
discipline吗。
儿子今晚被我们严格惩罚了，已经保证明天会听老师的话。但我心里其实有些打鼓。应

们自己识别对错的judgement，进而付诸行动的self-discipline. Kids naturally
lack self-discipline, because, well, they are kids, their brain functions
have not fully developed (until they are in mid-20's). Even adults lack self
-discipline, so it's no reason to be harsh or even beat them.

totally agree ! hehe.. I have read several papers arguing the name of cs,
authored few decades ago. hehe.
if I can remember correctly, Brooks wrote one paper. maybe you can find more
in Turing award lectures.
yes, the argument is,
(1) every discipline with a name science is not a science but a engineering.
e.g. computer science. information science. bio science
(2) every discipline with a name engineering is indeed an engineering
e.g. EE, civil engineering.

止的是程序员无意中犯的错误----programmers are forced to use the interface,
by the class designers (probably themselves).
事实上, c++大部分的feature都是用来防止程序员无意中的错误. 如果你self-
discipline到一定程度, 足够尊重C++的风格, 那么很多程序能编译, 自动就是正确的,
most errors are found compile-time. 为什么经常有面试题问, 如何禁止在堆上创
建对象? 如何禁止在栈上创建对象? 诸如此类的问题, 不是面试人吃饱了撑的, 或者要

内的MD学位不考完step1,2,3作完住院医，是不equivalent to 美国的MD的。
