, I only use my memory, but I do try to be accurate, kudos to you! But I
believe you and I should understand what I mean by "trying very hard for 15
years not to touch any non-organic chicken", did you really think there is
no exception? come one man, hehe, that was a blow under the belt, but like I
said, that was still a good one! I should have make my every post as

我那个时候，还没有毕业，不过就剩dissertation了。老板让我在一次seminar中做了
一次presentation, 完后把我介绍给了我现在的大老板，我记得大老板随行人员中还有
一个lady, 大概40的样子，叫Janet ,说话轻声细语，举手投足给我感觉真的是一个
lady，我对她印象特别好。
之后她给我打过两三次电话，完后就把我移交给了我现在的manager, 说我们这里的
XXX会联系你，安排以后的事情。
之后我就上班了，但是再也没有见过Janet. 我问过我们mananger， 说Janet去哪里了
。Manager说她resign 了。
之后我听到秘书八卦，说Janet是Les. 她在一次我们division非常正式的餐会中带来了
她的partner， 两个人好像还在哪个地方举行过一个小规模的仪式，总之非常正式。

For the corruption, you can get Transparency International’s Corruption
Perceptions Index. For education, you can get data from WB(percentage of
schooling). For poverty you can also get GDP per capita and sth like that from
WB. |

从UIC讹点儿什么。但这对她自己有什么好处呢？她的博士论文都已经从学校网站撤掉
了，即使搞赢UIC，也不能让对方drop thesis plagiarism的指控。再打官司，等同于
把自己的丑行一便又一便翻出来示众。最后即使校长想继续包庇她，恐怕其他教授学生

inspirational, there for her students, cares, gives great feedback. This
class is a lot of fun. The book is an easy read and pretty cheap. The
assignments are based on self exploration, lots of fun. Olson is one of the

+ times renting a car for 23 hours or so, and at least 800 miles by myself
each time. Cheap way spending a leisure day. I've also driven my own car
for 2 or 3 days for longer trips (1000+miles) but may need to spend one
night at motel (cost money which I didn't like but have to, I was very cheap
and HEALTHY then). Driving (mainly gasoline price) was really inexpensive
until 10
years ago. |

内吧，
超过了就不能申请OPT了，然后full time的前提是要不暑期，要么已经只剩下
dissertation defense了，其他程序都完了，具体可以自己读policy |

easily rack up 40K miles a year
爱自驾游 probably just add < 10K miles a year
back in student era, there was a couple years I was young/energetic and had
so much free time writing dissertation. So once every few weeks in warmer
months I would drive a rental car for a SAT or SUN for 1000 miles within 24
hours. I still remember a buddy and I drove a Chevy Lumina V6 for almost
3000 miles within 72 hours weekend rental. |

转眼间来美二十年了， 人生最美好的四分之一里，六辆车伴随着其中的十九年三个月
。身为爱看车爱坐车爱开车爱买车爱陪人买车的女生，最近为买第六辆车，来版上问了
不少问题，感谢热心车友的回答，现码上一篇长文，回馈车版，感慨人生。
第一辆，红色Toyota MR2手排档两门两座coupe，引擎后置，后轮驱动小跑，二手。 来
美九个月，无限想往在大农村里自由驰骋的洒脱，看到报纸上有人在卖，兴冲冲跑过去
看，一看就爱上了他的外形，当即买下来。然后才意识到自己连什么是手排档离合器都
不懂，苦哈哈的学起步无数天，哆哆嗦嗦就上路，起步停车若干次，窘迫的停在十字路
口再哆哆嗦嗦的重新来。。。懒惰如我，最爱的就是下坡时挂空挡让车自己向前滑还有
刹车时也挂空挡，全然不知那有多危险，直到几年后另一位开手排挡的朋友提醒，才开
始改，但也积习难改了。 小红跑陪伴着我从中西部大农村辗转到东部的绵延山区，一

），另获得了统计硕士双学位。
联系这边的博士后发现没有几个对口的，有对我感兴趣的教授，但是感觉不匹配，短时
间难以出结果，很鸡肋。
论文方面：Dissertation能支持2篇Sci，其中一篇投在本领域顶级期刊，可惜还没出来
，另一篇刚投出去。一篇一作Sci，两篇二作Sci，其他的为合作者（n作）。
联系国内一个研究院所，他们：
1.不能立刻给副研，仅给“助研”职称，但在待遇上等同副研。
2.承诺两年后，可以给副研职称，可以聘为实验室副主任，当然前提是表现良好，出成
绩。
3.给启动项目资金，可以作为项目负责人。
这边的post-doc尚未遇到合适的职位。刚刚申请了OPT。
感觉自己目前确实没有很拿的出手的东西（读双学位耽误了不少时间，导致论文未能及
时发表出来），目前情况下，是继续申请美国这边的博士后？还是立刻回国，重新打拼
的好？据说他们所的科研fund非常充足。
说实话，如果回国，副研职称拿不到，不太甘心。但是，目前论文未发表出来，博士后

engineering. polymer 方面的 基本skill 我都会 （比如 polymer synthesis,
polymer processing, characterization etc). 前段时间 忙着毕业， 没怎么投入找
工作。 现在 开始准备了。

文字很多，文笔却不好，写出来只是为了倾吐一下，因为实在是没有人可以吐心事了
不想细看故事的朋友： 我的故事很老套，老婆因为不堪经济压力出轨了
基本情况：
我出生农村，家庭条件比较差，人也长的一般，也不太注重个人形象。ＬＰ家庭条件稍
好（但是也农村长大的），外表整体不错（但脸上有道还算明显的疤痕）。当时我正在
美国一个不太知名的学校读一个在美国就业不是很好的专业的ＰｈＤ（国内这个专业目
前就业很好），ＬＰ也是刚刚从国内一个地方性学院本科毕业（学习比较差，尤其是英
语），正给她北京的姐夫（一个犹太美国人在北京做些小生意）做助理，一个月工资约
2000多。
相识与结婚：
