2000年，大三，联系学校，推荐信，成绩单，踢球，游泳。
2001 - 7月本科毕业，8月到美国，第一学期全A,不过上课听懂一半不到。
2002 - 上半年无聊之中经常健身；下半年，野心太大，选了一些特别难的课程，焦头
烂额。
2003 - 定下实验室。选简单课混日子。期间找了个老婆结婚。
2004 - 没啥压力，又开始狂健身，过了qualify; 联络了一个行业前3大公司的朋友，
同时给学校和公司打工，搞外快;外带还发paper。
2005 - RA 之余，继续到公司挣外快。初步结果不错，公司要赞助博士论文。
2006 - 论文期间了一家大公司实习。再次由于野心太大，另开炉灶，博士论文做的很
辛苦。其间有第一个孩子。
2007 - 博士论文答辩，完毕之后立即在新公司上班，也是一行业前3的公司，起薪6位
数。5月博士正式毕业。
2008 - 新车，EB1绿卡，发表了很多工作论文，升职, 买房。

4年前自己研究出个针对股票和指数期权的对冲策略，一直在用约100k的本金验证和改
进，策略比较成功，每年的收益均在40%以上，我知道这种收益对于股版大牛们来说不
值一提，但我这策略稳定性还行，虽然跑得慢但是能一直跑。也在一直联系与人合作想
干大点，但是很多专业搞投资的只想买策略，这是我无法接受的，所以一直也没有实现
。今年决定自己慢慢把台子搭起来，搞个小对冲基金，但是SEC规定私募基金是不可以
做广告找投资人的，无奈只有先找到意向投资人后再成立基金，现在的想法如下：
1）寻找约20位有意向的投资人；
2）设定1-3年的due diligence period；

啥专业技能都没有，只知道push人干活。如果说push得当，能让project稳步且快速前
进，也就罢了，虽说让被push的人不爽，至少从公司的角度看，也算是贡献。
可事实往往是，这些人只知道组织频繁的会议，让你给汇报进展，很多实际的问题，需
要专业知识才能理解的，你跟他们说了他们又不懂，只会raise an issue在某些系统，
或者excel表格里，随后每次会议都把这个list拿出来，问问哪些解决了，哪些没有，
哪些新问题出现了，却根本不懂其中有些本质上是同一问题的重复，有些有关联性得一
起解决，有些有依赖性，得按次序解决。跟他们讲也没用。
很多时候你正忙得焦头烂额，他们却跑来push，纯粹是帮倒忙。
实在不明白要这些人干嘛？如果一个project只涉及一个部门或一个小组，那就由这个
部门或小组的头来manage这个project就行了。如果是跨部门的，那就从所有相关的人

出太阳，幸亏咱们每天晚上都有开启各种浇水设施，否则肯定干得不行。
冬天隔三差五地下点雨，挺好的。
我的家乡经常会出现一场雨一下就连续一个月的情况，一定要下到田埂一脚下去看不见
脚才停几天，然后接着再下，那才叫难受呢。
如果你要是从Seattle地区来，或是从portland地区来，领略过那里整月的rain或是
drizzle，你就知道咋回事了。还有我有两白人同事从michigan来，一提起
他们的老家，几乎每次说他们的老家天气坏，尤其不喜欢那里的冬天。同时三年，他们

有好几个都已经吃过了。
上周末去bravern把唯一个没吃过的餐馆给吃了一下，Artisanal Brasserie.在二层，
lv店过去就是了。他们家的cheese很不错，酒更加美味。中间不知何故，足足等了４０
分钟，entree还没上，我开始和猪头抱怨，经理很识人眼色，很快就过来道歉，外加送
了一瓶香槟。我家猪头是香槟酒的狂热分子，每天都要干掉半瓶的人，这下什么怨言都
没了。我们俩乐滋滋地喝着香槟，慢悠悠地等。这顿午饭吃了两个半小时。唉！！ 菜
一般，甜品非常棒。吃完恨不得舔盘子的棒。banana bread pudding不甜不腻，with
fresh banana slices and a little syrup drizzle on the top，可惜太小了，吃两
口就没了。
吃完以后醉醺醺地去逛neiman marcus，买完肤护品，兴高采烈的回家啦～～

以多睡一个钟头，恶向胆边生，我就来随便说说，楼主莫怪，讲得好与不好都不准拍砖
头！
楼主的诗的第一段是这样写的:
"A little hobbit, he is
Stuck on the winding stair.
Grey and drizzling again, it is
As if his doom is declared."
首先，stair 应做 stairs，否则就不是楼梯的意思了。其次，在我的理解里，英诗非
但要符合文法，也要念起来通顺。也就是说，抑扬顿挫，断句都断在该断的地方。LZ
的第一段，我就很有疑问。
第一段中有两个句号，看起来像是两个整句，可是很明显地两句都是断在不该断的句子
中间。所以我就开始怀疑是不是我搞错了？是不是第一行就是一个完整的句子，如下？
"A little hobbit, he is."
如果真是这样的话，首先就不该有个逗点，因为这是属于写诗特有的倒装句型（而非一
般口语中的倒装句），将后面的补语拿到前面来。其次，如果这是一个完整句子的话，

发帖数: 19210 | 49 Rode in with drizzling rain. Forecast said it was going to rain 3 hours
earlier instead. Oh, well, can never trust the weather forecast.
And then in downtown while trying to maneuver around a stalled taxi making a
right turn in an intersection, I skid out 'cause the front wheel hit the
turning streetcar track on the ground which became super slippery when wet.
Luckily all vehicles were slow and stopped to let me get up.
What a stupid morning of riding! Maybe I should just call it a season of

发帖数: 164 | 50 I have done a few ride around 40 miles this summer, but stopped riding as I
started to run more. A knee injury a couple of weeks ago forced me to stop
running for a while, which made me feel restless and decide to go for a long
ride. I have always wanted to ride to the western end of the beautiful
Illinois Prairie Path and to check out the Fox River trail which connects to
the Prairie Path, so I set out on my hybrid bike to do a 4:30 ride (timed
to get home before dark.)
