ECEI stopped taking new application on 10/30, which means those boards who
accpet ECEI only have to find another one to replace ECEI. I belive CPEES
will be the best choice for most of states. Actually, some state had already
replaced ECEI with CPEES even before ECEI stopped taking application.
I have submitted my application to CPEES. Hope I won't miss the deadline
April2007 PE exam. I am not sure if CPEES is better or not compared with
ECEI. At least, there is always someone to pick up my |

是人文方面课程不够，工程设计(engineering design)不够。但engineering science
远远大于需要的学分。TNND，清华的本科多学一年还不如美国一个烂校。

That's why I am saying the pass may be major-dependent, coz our curriculum is
mostly fixed.
Do you read my post? it seems that ECEI contacted Tongji but Tongji did not

我是清华xx工程系本科毕业的。在这边拿到的master。 前不久接到一个conditional 工
作offer，说是如果清华的本科学位能够通过ECEI(Engineering Credential Evaluation
International)的评估，就可以拿到这个工作。
于是花了大把银子去做评估，因为根本没觉得有不过的可能性。
结果：Based on the criteria in effect at the time the program was completed,

Also, I do not think the courses we took before are not enough. But rather,
ECEI multiple our credits by a factor of 0.6(?), which made it less than ECEI
required.
Are you interested in retaking some "basic science" UNDERGRADUATE course? I am

As a matter of fact, even if you got ECEi results, it does not mean your
state board will approve your application. If you did not pass ECEI, you may

almost all the states switched to CPEES now. I think if you passed ECEI, it
should be fine. At least last year, ECEI or CPEES are both shown on the
requirement in many states (either one is ok). But who knows if some states
delete the ECEI in their list, they may accept CPEES only. So why just send
email to the board you want to apply PE exam to ask? |

遇到的尴尬情况。
美国职业工程师委员会（意）要求，（非本土本科毕业人士）要通过职业工程师考试，必
须具有他/她在原外国毕业院校获得的学士学位，学位须经过一个叫“国际工程资格审查
委员会（ECEI）”的国际权威机构认可。
令人难堪的是几乎所有的同济校友的学士学位都没有通过ECEI审查，主要集中在土木工程
方面，包括建筑工程，桥梁工程和岩土工程。
该现象主要是因为我们在同济得到的成绩单上信息不足，故ECEI在我们在同济修得的学分

刚才跟ECEI通了电话。谈及同济清华的学位总是不能通过时，ECEI说上海交大的学位还是
通过的。所以说，建议跟交大的情况比较一下，适当刺激一下同济领导。
一个显而易见的建议就是把同济的BS成绩单重新格式化。目前的成绩单上只有学分。按照
要求，还应该有每们课的学时、最低总学分总学时要求，另外选修课应该注明等。存在的
一个潜在问题时，这几年同济的教学大纲课程设置发生了一些变化，导致各界毕业生的课
业要求不尽相同。所以说要尽量避免只是考虑目前的课业情况；否则很有可能使得往界毕
业生反而不符合要求了。
对于评估，另外一个重要的文件就是课程介绍。不过要是所有的同济工科专业的课介都搞
中英文对照，似乎工作量过大了些。尽力而为吧。一个建议就是把各专业的课程中英文介
绍弄好后，放到一个官方的主页上。这样同济学生在向ECEI申请学位评估时，只需下载打
印相应的文件，并且附上正式的成绩单即可万事大吉。所以说，并不需要ABET和同济直接
接触(那样投资太大，似乎也并无必要。)

目前有二个问题需要解决.第一,ECEI认为同济提供的材料不够详细,不符合形式,无法正确
评估.这一Issue我会与学校沟通,但我认为目前学校确有困难, 具体地说,就是Course
Descriptions and Degree Requirements,这方面可能需要我们帮忙,例如,按Pentagon所

你如果能弄到这方面的资料，请提供给偶。这些信息一旦进入了美国的评估机构ECEI，以
后评估同济相应的本科专业的学位也就没有问题了。
偶需要的是桥梁专业的信息。ECEI要求提供官方文件。偶也不知道什么才算“官方”，至
少应该是比较正式的出版物吧，红透文件估计也能对付了。有英文版最好了，没有的话，
偶自己翻译也没问题。

you go ahead for this process. If they requires that your BS must pass ECEi

1. you can take EIT test wherever you want
2. If you received your BS degree from an institution outside the US, you
should have that degree evaluated by an evaluation service.
You can call ECEI at 410-347-7738 or their website is www.ecei.org
If you have a graduate degree from the US that is from an ABET approved
curriculum, at least on the undergraduate level, you would only have to have
your BS degree verified and not evaluated.

if you want to get a PE license
1. Your B.S degree should be evaluated by ECEI
2. You have to pass EIT test
3. You have mininum required working experience in US which depends on your
states
4. Your master or doctoral degree may cut off 1 or 2 years experiences for you
which also depends on where you are going to get your license
5. As I know, you at least have to have 2 years experience in States
