AWA 6.0。Graduate的GPA目前是4.0/4.0，但是学的都是纯econ的东西，比如Micro,
Macro and Econometrics。也和很多学校的professor询问我的情况。我本人呢倾向于
accouting的phd，但是有很多学校的professor都说虽然我的gmat成绩还可以，但是没
有过accounting的背景。另外就是有些professor建议我申请Finance，我自己也看了看
，finance搞的东西确实比accounting搞的东西贴近一点econ。。
所以想问一下大家对于Finance, Accounting我应该都分别定位到什么档次的学校？另
外，商学院的哪些phd是跟统计，econometrics或者Micro/Macro联系多一点的。因为在
这里学了一年的econometrics和Micro/Macro，所以感觉在这方便还有点优势，而且成
绩也不错。申请transfer的话可能性还大一点。

The first class I learned in USA is that econometrics is nonsense!
(data themselves are not nonsense)
If you do econometrics in our dept, you can hardly graduate!
Some friends of mine, their undergrad performance is very good, however, I
feel sorry when I see their dissertation is mainly econometrics, the result is
that they do not find good job in academic.

econometrics itself is innocent. it is just a tool, as is game theory,
statistics or math. but most so-called empirical research do not make sense,
partly because people who do it do not want to or can not make sense.
nevertheless, there are some creative, rigourous and significant empirical
research.
what is your dept? if u can not graduate with econometrics work, it is simply
because you do not do good work. it is not because you do econometrics work.

正确的组合是stochastic calculus和econometrics，能够在最底层融会贯通
stochastic calculus和econometrics，连续和离散随意转换，再加上expert
programming in C++，当然再加上numerical methods，这就完整了。 |
