班吗？我们这里但凡9分以上的School都有GT program, 所以很是困惑。

儿子现在上K,马上就要毕业了， 秋天要去elementary school上1 grade了。
今天跟着儿子K组织的小学参观团去转了一圈， 很有感触啊。
儿子要去的elementary school,是我们这里最老的，看起来很不起眼，里面有些陈旧拥
挤的感觉。 不过去参观了五个1 grade的班， 感觉就好多了。
K的小朋友到1 grade class, 那里的老师让1 grade的孩子一对一的跟K的小朋友介绍教
室里的新鲜玩意， 满好玩的， 大孩子锻炼了讲解能力， 小朋友也兴趣盎然。
让我惊讶的是， 一个班里面，老师给孩子们show wii-sports, 玩了一轮保龄球。
另一个班里面，居然养了无数小动物， 最感兴趣的是有个保温箱在孵鸡蛋， 今天正好
孵出来两只， 湿呼呼的歪来歪去， 特好玩。 还有养着小蝌蚪， 鱼，乌龟， 荷兰猪
等等， 搞得整个班特生动。

发帖数: 643 | 6 Greensboro最好的public elementary是oak ridge elementary。不过这个小学去年有
mold problem，八月份开学后，全校分成四块儿，在其他小学和中学上课，预计年底学
校能清理好，学生们可以返校上课。
其他和oak ridge elementary“并列”的，有summerfield elementry, E.P.Pearce
Elementary， colfax。 summerfield和oak ridge一样，是个比较老，口碑一直也很好
的小学。Pearce在summerfield, 是个新学校。Colfax虽然也是个greatschools rating
=10的学校，culture不很好，建议不去。
来Greensboro，住在northern, northwest area，学校一般都不会错，上面的几个学校
全在北边。北边还有一个新学校，northern，听说也很好。不过，我总是喜欢那种“历
史”上都好的。
另外西北区的中学也是Greensboro最好的。－－虽然号称是北卡最好的高中The Early College，不在西北，但 |

本来我们的理想房子是价格650k左右，3bedroom， 好点的elementary school. 地点想
在fremont或者union city附近（貌似也只有在这些地方有可能买到了）
看了一圈房子，发现好点的elementary school （9 out of 10）附近的房子真的都是
传说中的小黑屋。最后看了一个open house，房子大，采光好，里面装修不错，看邻居
的车子也觉得他们应该有decent job.但是，但是，它的elementary school只有3分。
请教一下，因为这个elementary实在太撮， 我们以后是肯定不去的了，而且我想对大
多数国人而言，是不会送孩子到8分以下的学校，那么，其实8分的学区和2分的学区对
我们而言是一样的，反正最后都是要去private。说不定因为学区差，房子价格低反而
是一个有利因素呢？
看了一下redfin对union city房子的记录，平均每尺是320刀左右，而这个open house
只有255刀。关键是它左邻右舍的房子单价也都是330刀一尺，所以很是心动。 （我觉

school的小朋友。我女儿今天8月份开始上Kindergarten，想找附近的after-school。
但是如果只是一个小孩的话，很难找到有学校司机接送的。如果有两个或者以上小朋友
的话，可以选择的after-school学校就好许多。
如果你也在找学中文、数学等的after-school的话，我们可以联系一下，看是否可以一
起来找同样的学校。
另外，Campbell Forest Hill Elementary 全校dismiss的时间是一样的，所以，任何
年级的都可以。

are more or less the same. Certainly one thing for sure is that it should
not be a factor to decide which house to buy.
Your kids will be getting the same education. Some parents have the strong
feeling on which elementary school is much better than others. Let me tell

riverside station 附近的)，学校排名还不错，身边人说那个学校口碑不错。就是那
里的aparment贵一些，并且每年的月租都涨50-70刀／月。三层的房子现在已经达到
2000刀了。
大家有谁住过那里的，或者了解那里的，不知道这个学校是否真的那么好。
还有，今天参观了另一个小学（不提名字了），那里没有空调和电扇，由于今天很热，
所以班级都是拉着窗帘，关着灯，孩子们都在很黑的环境下写字，这里的学校都是这样
吗？不知道william elementary school有没有空调什么的，夏天很热的话怎么度过。

中老印区高尚吗？
实话实说，brookvale小学基本上thornton jr high下面几个小学里进步最慢的一个了
。其他5所不管API高低这几年都在进步，只有它还退步了不少。以前比它差不少的两个
，Patterson Elementary 和 Oliveira Elementary 去年API都进步到854和867了。要
再这样下去，它基本上就要垫底的了。
当然，小学有多重要，个人理解不同了，看买家怎么想了，反正也不是啥好学区，除了
学校API，还要看居住环境，floorplan等等，自己觉得心安就好。不过，这年头，API
通涨得厉害倒是真的。不少好学区下面的小学API都990＋了。

In Seattle there are two Chinese language immersion schools only:
Beacon Hill International School
Denny International Middle School
Beacon Hill is like first half of day Chinese speaking only, including
student and teacher, second half of day English education.
Another language immersion school(close to UW) offers only Japanese and

发帖数: 2 | 50 I am interested in a house in Gaithersburg. One of the concerns is that its
elementary school is Dufief, which is rated 7/10 on greatschools.net. My
daughter will turn into 5 soon. My agent told me all elementary schools
under Wootton high should be good enough, but a rating of only 7 made me
worry. Can anyone familiar with this school share some information? Is the
rating reliable or not?
