爸爸突发大面积脑出血,接近或者已经脑死亡,医生说成因已经存在很多年.医药费惊人,
听说有个政府的program是为visitor提供financial aid的,但是我们还没有查到相关信
息。希望大家能够帮助。
我们知道在美国父母欠的帐和子女无关，但是还是希望通过合法途径付清医院账单。
到目前为止我们查到的关键词

但是还没有查到怎么申请，不知道父亲是否qualify。（注：父亲不到65岁） |

emergency room is mostly for medical emergency, life threatening conditions.
Nurses and doctors work in the ER they prioritize their work depending on
what time you get there and most importantly what you condition is. I hate
to say that stomach pain won't get you in there quick. it may be better off
to call you MD for instruction. All the MD has emergency contact. |

your insurance pays it.
Nonetheless, there are things you got to learn from this:
1) only go to emergency room when you have an emergency. What is an
emergency? Automobile accident, heart attack, stroke, vomiting blood etc.
If you have a heart attack, you will be in the OR receiving stent in an hour
. You have been triaged to the lowest priority, and that is why nobody
comes.

发帖数: 1211 | 6 美国的急症和中国的急症不是一回事。中国其实没有美国这样的Emergency
Medicine.
中国的急症其实就是个值夜班的primary care doctor，至少在我离开中国时，
国内的一线城市的大医院还是这样的。
美国的ER是为真正的Emergency设计的。你如果是heart attack，半个小时之
内就可以给你上冠状动脉支架。如果你是中风，15分钟之内可以判断你是脑出血还
是脑血管堵塞，从而给你相应的治疗。这样的效率，不是中国的医院能实现的。人
家靠得是大量的先进的设备和众多medical professional同时为你服务。而且
美国的ER永远是先看病，再收钱。如果你只是小毛病，那对不起，一旦你睡上了人
家的床，就不可能便宜了。
换句话说，如果在中国，你去一次emergency room，哪个不也要几百块的，提供
的也只是Primary care的服务。在美国，如果你去自己的Primary care，自己
付也就是几百块。何况大部份人其实有保险的。
美国的医疗体系显然问题多多，但是比中国还是不知道强了多少倍。所以第一，别老
是把美金乘7。第二，多了解美国的医疗体系，这 |

今天回到家看我的insurance company的网页上，写的去emergency room 要自己掏钱。
昨天在医院的时候问了一下，护士说payment3000， 5000，或者10000以上都有可能。
我是学生，没有工资也没有SSN，实在是没钱付。在Emergency room 填写了我的名字、
生日、学校、地址和电话。
现在心情很复杂，不知道该怎么办。。。。。。 |

当天情况时这样，头天晚上小孩发高烧呕吐，烧到早上也没退，而且吃药就吐。 就去
看ER。
看的时候医生说大概就是普通发烧，就是给了几片药吃在哪里等着，其间帮着量了体温
，还要血压，再没测别的。坐大概2~3小时，医生说没事就走了。当时烧也退了。
上个月受过一个账单，大概80多给付了，也没在意，也没有仔细看都怎么charge的，以
为就完事了。
结果今天又收到一个，保险付完后，我还要付1300。
其中主要一项是：
emergency room, $1660.
这个光写个emergency room是啥意思，凭啥收那么多？

hard. 他们现在要准备好钱到这些market等待crash之后捞底。因为危机过后，

现在emerging market的风险比美股小，潜在收益大(主要是前几年都萎靡不振）。
美股稍微一调整，那些曾经科技明星股都跌的不认识了：NFLX,AMZN,PCLN,TSLA,FB,
YELP,SCTY,TWTR，，
大盘再调整几百点，这些科技股至少再跌20%,觉得tsla再回120不稀奇。不过有些股可
以短期赌个反弹。
还有众多生物科技股，以IBB为指数，现在220，至少会到200去一趟的，到时候众多生
物股会再跌个20%以上。反正IBB 不到200我是不会碰任何生物科技股。都是去年吹起来
的泡泡。
现在我的总体思路是逢低买emerging market，逢高put上面的这些高价股。 |

RD 2月24号
4月16号打客服，tier 1 给了个case number
4月17号收到email 说不能加速，因为没有提供证据。4月17号晚上fax了invitation，
机票hotel等等，等了一周没有消息。
4月24号打电话，找tier 2，resubmit了request，客服说你把材料fax给我，我说我4月
17号已经fax给NSC了（唉，脑残了）
4月25号收到email，还说不能加速，“Although your situation appears serious,
you have not provided evidence of an extreme emergent need, which must meet
one of the following criteria”，不知道是fax的材料没收到还是材料不合要求。$
2000刀的loss算不算severe financial loss啊？

我的485是去年初和EB1b一起交的，EB1b被拒了，几个月后来交的NIW批了，以为485会
被拒再重新排队，可是一直没有被拒，给USCIS打电话问过是否会拒也没有答案。上个
月我的485被告知office transfer到MO的National Benefits Center,昨天又收到一份
文件补件的通知。这样看来，我的485还活着，所以就一定要申请Advance Parole了。

多，然后公司FSA cover了，今年（半年后）又收到这个chambers emergency
associates的账单，三百多，这回提交了EOB给FSA公司以后，没批
打算不交这个钱，结果现在第二张账单来了，说45天不回复就转给收债公司
版上有visit过emergency room的知道这个associates吗？周一准备打电话问，但估计
很难waive掉，跟这帮人打交道想想都头疼。。。 |

我发现emergency room是个很神奇的地方，本身就可以治病。去emergency room之前每
个人都有很严重的症状，否则没事谁往那儿跑？到了以后无一例外都是几个小时几个小
时的等，轮到自己，病总是神奇的好了，医生什么也不用做。。。
米帝的emergency room不是为头疼发热准备的，这类毛病如果不放心可以去urgent
care，几乎不等，又便宜，但时间有限制，不象ER是24小时。。。ER是稀缺资源，能不
去尽量不去，利人利己。象你这种情况等了两天的，该早点在白天就去urgent care，
要真有什么问题对娃也好点 |

PRE是不让种子发芽，对于已经长出来的没有用。preventer顾名思义属于pre-emergent
。POST是杀正在生长的。2，4-D属于POST. Clover用weed b gone （里面含2，4-D）直
接喷叶子上就可以了。觉得效果不够好可以等一两个礼拜再喷一次。
一定要粘在叶子上才有效果，看到有人特意加一点洗手液之类的表面活性剂。 |

LD在加拿大旅行，突然生病了，需要看医生。
我们的保险是蓝十字，有international coverage。我打电话给保险公司，保险公司说
，看门诊的话，只能自己先垫付，然后回来file a claim。
我问LD可以去哪里看医生，对方说加拿大和美国的医疗体制不同，一般的医生不会随便
接游客病人，所以LD可以去看Emergency Room，也可以找walk-in clinic，我问这二者
有什么区别吗？对方说几乎没有，收费差不多，在美国、在加拿大都是这样。
我怎么印象中emergency room收费比看医生贵多了啊？ |

只是failure to yield.我拿到罚单还傻傻的还问了一句“what is the problem with
me?”他说的大意是“难道你要我超过你么？你不知道怎么停车么？我从××就跟你了
（没听清楚，也不熟悉那边的路）”，还说了几句，没听懂。感谢国家，他没有把我拉
出拉按在地下，只是态度很不好的吼了我几句。看样子我的确反映的太慢了。
然后我做了一个U Turn去上高速，在一个红绿灯那边，看见了很疑似刚才那辆警车的警
车，天太黑看不见里面的警察的样子。前后就2分钟的事情，当时觉得有可能是同一辆
警车。就挺纳闷的，他说他是emergency vehicle，怎么也和我一样U turn，不去忙他
的emergency。不过不能确定是同一辆车也没多想。

如果它emergency的话 他应该鸣笛 提示前面的车辆让路
我的确没有听见警笛的声音。按说他跟了我一阵子，开了警笛我应该能听见，不会反映

没有no parking during snow emergency的标志。可是十分钟出来后就喜闻乐见地被给
ticket了。
第一次被罚不太懂，请问这种情况有可能申请上诉么。。。只用iphone拍了一点照片，
留了parking的receipt，ticket上有准确的地址
（后来去那附近办事时，顺便留意了一下旁边小路，有明显的no parking during snow
emergency标志，可以好几辆车安然无恙地停着。meter receipt显示1:38，ticket的

说emergency break cannot immediately stop，让我去修。我把车开去firestone，结
果人家检查说没问题，说这个刹在新泽西州 is not designed for stopping the car

明显地slow down，但是不是immediately stop。我回到原考场，跟考官说了firestone

一，换个考场是不是可行？或者能不能去complain？
二，真的路考要求车一定要马上刹住吗？大家的车emergency break 都能immediately
stop吗？如果车不能马上手刹刹住的话，是不是一定不能用来路考？
三，如果路考真是要要求马上手刹能刹住，有办法把手刹调整到能immediately stop的
