principle engineer这些等级
认识周围个别熟人，有博士一毕业进公司就是senior的，好像至少也是engineer。不过
这个问题我以前也没关心过。
博士刚毕业，在一家公司面试的时候根本都没提工程师的等级问题，后来给我一个
offer, 职位是junior engineer。 待遇是行业里给博士毕业生开的，还算fair。
随便查了一下这家公司的员工在linkedin上的主页。这家公司不大，所以没有很多可以
参考的，没有找到可以完全类比的。就找到个把硕士刚毕业工作了一两年的，拿的也是
junior engineer。别的就都是engineer或者更高级别的了。
所以想问问fresh phd进公司一般应该分到什么等级呀?是否还需要再跟这家公司谈谈
如果junior这个职位比较低，是否会对以后职业发展影响比较大，比如以后万一需要换工作，别的公司会认为你怎么博士毕业才做junior比较菜? |

油公司的划分一般是这样，先是两大块：
earth science和engineering
在earth science干活的一般叫做earth scientist，在engineering干活的一般就是
petroleum engineer。
earth science的重点是exploration，就是找油，同时也对成熟油田的开发提供地质和
地球物理方面的支持。earth science里面的主要职位是geologist,geophysicist，就
是地质和地球物理两大块。
engineering主要负责油田的开发，重点在production和development。petroleum
engineer是一个非常笼统的称呼，一般可以分为drilling engineer,production
engineer,completion engineer和reservoir engineer几个职位。
再说到petrophysicist，主要是做log和core分析的，很多公司是放在earth science里

窃以为，这个基地（按黑人船长的说法是生化/WMD之类的基地）在研究或装载生化武器
弹时，出现事故，ENGINEER们自己的身体也抵抗不了，所以他们要跑。参考1是全息景
象那个被切头的是先膝盖着地再倒，不是扑倒，感觉应该是身体内部有问题才倒，不是
外界绊倒的。参考2是女主角给取回的头做实验时，说那个头在变化或变异，再给加电
流，促进他的变化，结果就爆了。切头的门应该不是通向ENGINEER的飞船的，应该是他
们的实验室吧。
另外，地质学家和生物学家发现那一批死的ENGINEER时，也说了一句，大概意思是他们
似乎是头爆开了。就象有些人说的，他们应该也是给感染了，最后给隔离在舱门/飞船
外，以保证没有感染那最后一个ENGINEER能先休眠吧。
再有，就是觉得一开始那个ENGINEER和后来的ENGINEER们不一样或不是一起的，因为一
开始的飞船是圆盘状，后来的飞船是“C”形。一开始时的场景中有几次出现绿色，我
感觉不是草就是苔藓。所以，我比较同意之前有人说的，这个ENGINEER是类似老普，给
赐死了。

找矿，科罗拉多矿院（Colorado School of Mines）不错。
上不了Gatech，就去Texas A&M，Virginia Tech，再不就去Colorado School of Mines，
再不行就去德国的技工学校。其他的不用太多担心排名，差一点的学校有工业实践
机会的也很好。
MIT，Stanford，CIT ，Eth， 巴黎矿院，帝国理工学院都档次太高，偏重高科技理论。
清华又太差劲了，日本早就捂住钱包了。

As the price of the gas goes up so the engines goes down in size. Obviously
with changes, with new technologies, advantages and disadvantages.
My experience with both engines: 2011 N52 B30 and 2011 N20 turbo is as
follow:
- N20 turbo is a great engine with good fuel efficiency - about 1.5 lite/
100km over the 6-cyl but sound very unrefined especially when started from
