(门外一个中年男子从门缝中递出身份证,隋媛接过仔细辨别,又回房间里拿出手机和
钥匙踹到衣兜里,然后打开链索。)
隋媛:钱伯伯在养老院呢,上次我去看他了,挺好的,就是帕金森,手一直抖,但是脑
子不糊涂。
钱诚:(四处打量房间,然后坐在沙发上,)我知道。你什么时候回来了?
隋媛:(把茶杯放在茶几上)快半年了吧,
钱诚:听说你是老师?
隋媛:嗯,对,以前在我们公司教课。现在在准备一些面试。
钱诚:哪儿呢?
隋媛:(搬了个马扎坐在对面),周边这几所大学吧。
钱诚:呦,看不出来,教授啊。
隋媛:(笑)也不是教授,美其名曰而已。您都忙些什么。
钱诚:我呀,从早忙到晚。(怀里的蝈蝈叫)(从怀里拿出一个葫芦,递给隋媛看),
现在是忙这个。
隋媛(盯着看),好精致啊,我能看看吗。
钱诚:(递给隋媛),这是糠胎质地,蝈蝈鸣叫时,能发出共鸣,那声音就好听了,浑
厚低沉,有劲儿,还不刺耳朵。
隋媛:哦,跟那个钢琴的音板作用差不多。(拿着葫芦看了几圈,看到网眼的地方有点
害怕,还给他)挺精致的,一看就值不少钱。我不太懂,也不太会玩儿。

disagree with it.

evolution theory" belief. But this is the TrustInJesus forum, not
TrustInDarwin.
why does this matter to you? Based on your posts I feel that you are not in
natural science research anyway. My apology if my guess is wrong.
what's your point? This just proves that it is still a work-in-process with
new findings.

a) any feature that's "useful" as we understand today is credit to the "
natural selection" on the "advantages" offered from the feature
b) any feature that's not "useful" as we understand today is labelled as "
inherited relic", or just a "neutrual drift" that doesn't cause any
disadvantage.
c) any features was in category b) but later found to have some biological

Hmm.. ETF...
IMHO, I only do ETF with my regular portfolio of which I actively manage.
While ETFs are more nimble and cheaper, as far as risk is concerned it is
really not that much different from stock picking. For 401K, since everyting
is super-longterm, I really need actively managed funds for better hedging
and risk control.
I do a lot of ETF though, especially a few months back when I was playing
with FX. It is much easier to deal with FX ETF which you can long/short much

这么贵为什么大家还好像抢deal一样。。。

好的dba真的可以make everyting difference。
看我们那个阿三dba干活就很郁闷,nnd的没啥条理,东一榔头西一棒槌,做app dba吧
连ddl都管理不起来,得让developer们把一个个需要的table和index的ddl都上传到vss
。 丫一*nix下的dba居然完全依靠questcentral工作,基本脚本写不了;难怪领导放着
他在这巴巴的contr着然后一直在招permanent,就是不给丫机会啊。

Last week, I bought a LInksys wireless router from bestbuy and I am tryin to s
et it up today. But after seting everyting up, I can not get in the internet/
For sbc dsl, do we have host name and domain name? maybe not.
and we got a dynamic IP, right? So we should set DHCP?
Anything else?

Minecraft 其实不是因为没resource才做那种风格的。Game第一次release之后就开始
挣钱了,资源根本不是个问题。Markus这么做是深思熟虑的。从理论上讲,人的大脑有
想象力,当一个形象非常模糊的时候,会根据自己熟悉的生活环境自动对它做一个补充
。所以对做得好的pixel art来说,可以说每个人看到的东西都不完全一样,但都很亲
切。图片精美当然也很好,但是当图片非常接近于真实世界时候,人的大脑反而更注意
图片中不真实的部分,比如水的流动不够光滑,运动中环境里的色块。所以一些游戏的
画面越来越精致,对机器要求也越来越高;而另一方面,pixel art的游戏也可以很
popular -- 并不仅仅因为怀旧的原因。

We have a warm, sunny room for rent. It is one of two bed rooms apartment.
There is simple furniture(bed, sofa and small desk). $450 including water,
hot water, gas, heat, TV cable,internet. Available 1/8/2011.
Bus stop is just at the house. 9 buses to subway station for only 2-3 min.
All the residents in this 6 apartments building are Harvard MIT postdoc or
northeastern university students.

concept to 'structual uncertainty'.
I read a lot about the discussion already, but I think there don't exist an
apparent and convincing point about the topic. However, Delong's argument
maybe an exception. I am kinda missing good days of classical economics in which
everyting is clearer.

非常理解楼主的处境和心境。
很多人说当初为啥结婚,可当初有多少人有孩子或者考虑过在美国养孩子的生活?很多
孩子的活动需要家长做义工,如果家里不是独生子,协调各个孩子活动的时间安排,接
送,做义工,助阵简直就是马不停蹄。我们这里老美很多家庭都是爸爸或妈妈做半职的。
还有人提李安,你们让楼主学习李安的太太,可是楼主老公要不要学学人家李安的人格
魅力和责任感呢?当初李安没工作,天天带孩子,做一手好菜,还学IT想转行来的。
本着人人平等的原则,楼主老公有追求科学的热心固然值得敬佩,就像很多人有追求名
牌的热忱一样。只要财力精力负担的起,尽管追。
最近看了个电影, The Theory of Everyting, 霍金比老张名气大吧,他的太太最终
也还是离婚了。 成功男人背后的女人不是因为她赌赢了老公这只潜力股,而是那个成
功男人本来就有过人的人格魅力(所以霍金的太太能和他结婚三十年,养了三个娃),
而且在实现自己梦想的同时也能实现他女人的梦想, 而很多女人的梦想是离不开孩子
的幸福的。

Except those keynote speakers and invited talks, JSM basically accept everyt
hing as long as you can provide the proof of the progress of your work.
At least for everyone I know, including myself, hasn't been turned down by
JSM once....
As for the Proceeding of JSM, you need to pay $90+ to publish your work,
which Ithink I will never submit my work to if I think it is publishable
somewhere else...
