袁荃做的是还不错，但不意味武大化学系就有多好了。
举例来说，即使袁荃和另外一位新招的楚天特聘教授傅磊相比，也能看出武大化学系在其中有没有猫腻了。
首先补充一点：袁荃的老公叫廖蕾，也是武大物理系新招的楚天特聘教授，可以作为很好的对照体系。

而且面试的第一家不是很有心去，要我一个人cover一个facility，害怕！
面试也是很不正式，像拉家常。。。
因为知道他们同一个公司底下有不同的facility，就去附近的另外一个，直接上门找
Don了。
觉得那一个就好些，至少上班的时候至少有两个护士，而且DON说一定会给长些时间培
训新人。倒是很想去她那，但是只有on-call的位置
我也说有意去，回来给她发了Thank you letter。
总的感觉，如果没有选择的XDJM，如果要去Nursing home 之类，一定要看看facility
，要知道nursing home can be nusty. 上门找人直接问真的有效。大不了，别人冷落
你，但是我的经历是还没有人不见我的，见了就有直观的效果，对你了解他们有好处（
如果是那种有尿臭味的facility，我肯定不肯去，哪个地方肯定不是个好地方），同时
别人也对你印像。 |

my answer is: "macro facility" generates sas language or build-in procs/data
step. there are several 'units' in the macro facility, like input stack,
scanner, tokenizer, catalogues, that understand only 'sas macro language'.
Anything other than macro is treated as 'text'in the facility. the output of
the facility is 'sas language'. |

2007年之前，清华生物系和医学院基本没有任何core facility，连动物房好像只有不
正规的一小间（我不做动物，记错勿怪）。到2010年，细胞平台、蛋白质测试平台、动
物房等core facility基本建完。以前在Rockefeller的邓海腾加盟清华执掌Mass Spec
，对我们帮助巨大！在那之前，总是去NIBS。没有这些基本的facility，不管你多牛，
举步维艰，哪有什么竞争力？我私下经常对后来的人忆苦思甜。我当年去清华的时候，
一台X-ray等了整整一年才到。现在想想，真是很感激NIBS、北大、微生物所、生物物
理所等等，都是到处用他们的机器，大家都很nice。

的人做到了，其他80%的人都死在医院和Nursing home里。
最近因为一些原因，我有机会去过几家养老院, 现在谈谈我的感受。
Nursing home：
美国的Nursing home分为三种：Intermediate care facility (ICF)，Assisted
living facility (ALF)，Skilled nursing facility (SNF)。我想我三个都去过，前
两者是自己付费，最后一个是Medicare, Medicaid付大头。Nursing home，价格从3千
到6千美元每月不等（当然还有更高的），月费年年涨，据说进去的时候还要缴纳一笔
不菲的押金。
美国的Nursing home都分布于城市的各个角落，从外表看上去就像Apartment complex
似的。不过里面的环境还是不错的，花花草草，比较安静，比一般的apartment要好。

的人做到了，其他80%的人都死在医院和Nursing home里。
最近因为一些原因，我有机会去过几家养老院, 现在谈谈我的感受。
Nursing home：
美国的Nursing home分为三种：Intermediate care facility (ICF)，Assisted
living facility (ALF)，Skilled nursing facility (SNF)。我想我三个都去过，前
两者是自己付费，最后一个是Medicare, Medicaid付大头。Nursing home，价格从3千
到6千美元每月不等（当然还有更高的），月费年年涨，据说进去的时候还要缴纳一笔
不菲的押金。
美国的Nursing home都分布于城市的各个角落，从外表看上去就像Apartment complex
似的。不过里面的环境还是不错的，花花草草，比较安静，比一般的apartment要好。

scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday for misspending $750,000 in campaign
funds. Jackson’s wife Sandi is also scheduled for sentencing at the same
time for her failure to report as much as $600,000 in income to the IRS.
Jackson’s attorney’s filed a request on Monday for his sentence to be
served at a prison camp in Montgomery, Alabama or a low-security prison in
Butner, North Carolina.
