发帖数: 831 | 2 我们在北加，13日的cruise从long beach出发。带着爸爸妈妈和小宝宝。准备早出来一
天顺便去一下 walk of the fame。想着LA其他的东西爸爸妈妈也没什么兴趣，这次就
不去了，以后我们自己再去吧。
计划12日一早出发，开开1号公路。因为反正还要cruise，就不去17 miles了。在1号上
走走看看。理想的情况是能在Solvang吃午饭，然后转转。住在圣巴巴拉附近。
13日上午去 walk of the fame,就近吃个午饭（要是能方便的去吃点中餐最好，大家给
建议吧），然后上船。
我没去过Solvang和圣巴巴拉，想着应该是cute的小城吧。这两个地方有什么具体的去
处么？还是就在downtown转转？
带着老人和孩子，行程得尽量松快点。

有两个词总能将我从对中国发展的喜悦和对未来的憧憬中拉回到冰冷的现实：
White Privilage 或者是 White Fame
和
外放
前者反映了白人在中国享受的普遍崇拜， 后者反映了弱势的中国男人在海外的感情市
场中的挣扎和绝望。
你可以google一下white privilage in China 或 white fame in China, 就可以看到
白人们到达中国后的 “意外惊喜”。 你也可以像我一样在trade show被同胞们晾在一
旁， 簇拥着比我低一级的白人同事。 总之， 中国人赋予白人的特权是无处不在的，
从官员教授到走卒小贩， 都是如此。
真正让我觉得耻于自己中国男人的身份的， 是听到很多海外的中国男人， 受过高等教

tion matters, but not that important as long as you are above the bottomline.
I dont know much about HK univ. but from what I heard from my friends, it seem
s publication is important. Connection and fame of the advisor would make the
background stronger. One of the most important factor is LUCK. |

however, the problem is not like that.
I don't think Crick really cares about 鼓吹花纳税人的钱 etc, he already has
the fame. For his last 10-20 years he just visited labs worldwide and
listened to their lab meetings about research related to his brain problem.
Other people may kiss the ass and use his fame to get money for his own
field. But I don't think Crick himself cares.

life trying to re-design vanco...:P Fame for a scientist? In my family, I
earned the highest academic degree, yet, I'm the oldest, shortest, and
poorest. I already give up fame, and I recommend most scientist to do so,
too. Just live a normal life and survive :). |
