Cohen》,据说比Cohen自己的任何一张专辑卖得都好：

Lane走后，我打开纸条。上面写着一个俱乐部的名字，地址在林肯中心附近，还有时间
。地址下面还有Lane的手机号码。
我抬头看了一下头顶的星空，突然觉得刚才的伤心一扫而空。这是一个奇妙的夜晚，不
是吗？我见到了最喜欢的Beautiful People。心里一下子激动起来。不管Michael怎么
羞辱我，我一定能想办法和他沟通的。哪怕只是一小会儿。
我把After Becoming Famous拿出来，又看了一下Michael漂亮的钢笔签名，然后把Lane
的纸条塞进CD，小心的放回衣服口袋。身边的出租车一辆辆开过，我却心情激动的不愿
意坐出租车，而是一路跑起来，沿着百老汇大街，穿过一个个红绿灯，一直跑了40条街。

回到Blind Pig以后，酒吧外面已经排起了队。我另一条街上从酒吧后门进去，向后台休息室的保安出示了志愿者证。保安犹豫了一下，或许看到我脸上的泪水，就让我进去了。
休息室里坐了八九个人，还有几个人站着。在休息室最里面的角落里围了五六个人，其中一个高瘦的红头发女孩儿是我之前见过的Sara Harp。中间坐着的男人腿很长，一头金褐色的头发，穿了一件黑色夹克，修长的手指握着一瓶啤酒，正在扭头和身边的人说话。
这是我第一次见到Michael Morrison本人。
时光出现了跳跃。奇妙的，让人心碎的时光。那个陪伴我度过孤独的少年时代的金发少年，一霎那间变成了五十多岁的老男人。

着百老汇大街，开到54街，然后向左拐，一直开过5th Avenue，最后在希尔顿酒店门口
停下。Michael从出租车里出来，和出租车司机讲了几句话。我让出租车司机留着那100
块钱，也下了出租车，跟着Michael走进了希尔顿酒店。
穿过希尔顿酒店的大堂，快到电梯口的时候，Michael终于发现有人跟着他。他回过头
，看到我，就站住了，然后转过身来看着我，把左手插在裤子口袋里。
“现在又是什么把戏？你打算跟踪我到什么时候？”

Michael的信很长，比我的更长，差不多有5页。我从读第一行字又开始哭，哭的哽咽难制。但是Michael一个字都没提一年前打我耳光的事情。开头Michael就非常不高兴地说，
“Ms. Mao，我对你这种表面上彬彬有礼，实质上却试图说服我接受你的共产主义信条的把戏，实在是深恶痛绝。这一次，我认为你会有所改变，但你只是更加把我piss off。”

Bally竞选的纽约地区学生组织。四年级的课程相对轻松。上课之余，我用了不少时间
帮竞选团体设计宣传画。同小组的有哥伦比亚、纽约大学和city college的学生。刘飞

第二天傍晚，我带了一个小行李箱，几张CD和一本约翰卡尔的小说，在penn station坐
上灰狗。
这是我来美国以后第一次离开纽约旅行，行程却长的让人绝望。一共有79个小时多，到
温哥华的时候是四天后的半夜11点多。为了有点盼头，我随身带了一张美国地图，每经
过一个灰狗站就在上面画一个红圈。我一共要画29个红圈，横跨美国北部的14个州。
在这个漫漫旅途的开头，我为看见D.C.市中心竖起的高高的华盛顿纪念碑而兴奋，后来
又看见巴尔的摩的海军港，深夜之后，一直到之后的三天，我总是处于迷迷糊糊的状态

第二天的最早到温哥华的灰狗是上午七点的。
我早上四点钟就起来了。睡了六七个小时，疲倦似乎都消失了。我光着脚到公共浴室，
认认真真洗了澡和头发。出来以后，我在箱子里拿了一件白色套头衫穿上，换了一条干
净牛仔裤，外面还是那件灰色牛角大衣。临出门前，我想了想，又回去把康威帆布鞋刷
了一遍，然后湿漉漉地穿在脚上。
那天早上一直在下雨。几年后我冬季到西雅图出差，才知道西雅图冬天通常都下雨。我
把牛角大衣的帽子戴起来，走在雨里，白色的帆布鞋很快又脏了，但是我感觉不到沮丧
。我把耳机戴上，一直放着那首湿漉漉的Baby Blue，想着Michael，心情欢喜的就要爆

木屋，专门给家人和朋友住。
“你有过射击经验吗？”Michael问我。
我想了想，说，“来美国前两年，爸爸带我去部队营地射击过几次，不过都是用手枪。
枪太重了，我提着手总是抖，没法儿瞄准。”
“打猎都用来福枪，比手枪重得多。”Michael笑着说。
