my impression is fanfic is by the large a female activity, and stressing on
emotional course of events seems to be a natual thing for women to do. a huge
category of the fanfic is called PWP, (plot? what plot?) sometime you see the
writer claimed in her note that she'd "shot the plot". the plot is given a
not-so-serious emphisis, hence the term plot bunnies. plot bunnies also
suggests
a interactive, communal effort, since bunnies, ah, breed. so one plot will

get to the next page, something there actually tries to explain this monster
thing called fan fiction. if you ever read the fanfics and wonder about the
frenzy, this can be something of interest. i find it too possitive to be
honest, and too simplifying to be serious. but the bit about communal art and
'repairing the damage' is, to say the least, worthy of a laugh or two... ]

kinda interesting about the article is that it mentioned fanfics stressed on
emotion variations than plots. is that why there are so many listed as
"angst". and why is slash so popular?

midearth told from elves' pov (and one elf in particular). (oops fanfic
generally stinks, but there's gem buried in soils..)
spoiler: storyline is occasionally girlish and teenagerish, saddish and
melodramaticish; on the whole it is rich and beautiful, combined with action
and reflection, suspense and classics, the lovely and the ancient; the

no, it's not. nimrodel already existed in tolkien's middle earth. i singled
her out becoz she was less heroic, closer to a common woman compared to
galadriel, luthien & arwen. i would have made up sth new if to get a name for
myself.;P what's the meaning of mythranda? sounds very elfish.

referred me to this site. there are actually R and NC rated ones. i
understand your being disturbed by some writing. lol. some sort once scared
me out of my wits. you might want to try "leaf storm - a tale of
middle-earth". it is romance/adventure; the writing is pretty good except
romance part; and luckily the love story didn't take place many chapters
after. this is the only fanfic i read so far, haven't gather |

不是那种聪明玲珑心眼N多还要剖开来展示有多少多少窍孔的那种~嗯啊~象断藕~
这位是用头脑与心灵在写呢。寂寞与感伤，哲理与诗意，时空的纵横交错，孩子气
的率真与甜蜜，都能在里面看到呢。(人物情景塑造，语句细节的转折之美..不用说
了..超脱了..)。最最致命的是，无论哪样，伊写来都给人一种was at ease with
the world的感觉。象托爷爷的文风，sad yet not unhappy.

according to strict classic grammar, we can have:
a is this; b is that; c is this; d is that.
a did this, did that, ....and (but, then, etc. conj.) did that.
a did this, doing that.
but in literature and everyday english, grammar goes loose, and the following
types are not rare:
a is this, b is that, c is this, d is that.
a did this, did that.
moreover, grammar in e. fanfic can be careless. i was corrupted by them.;P

em, if you are wondering, "padawan" means jedi apprentice. former padawan
means, in here, a jedi just kneighted, meaning that he has graduated, achieved
independence, and can have apprentice of his own. sounds like a phD hehe.

现代人大多是依托在前人造的世像里面，海盗，沙漠，太空船，红粉，巫婆，

i always avoid angst fics, not that it would depress me but that it has no
effect. some fic is crazy and it's hard to understand why authors like to
torture chars and plots and language so much, in a most unreasonable way.

definately like to see your opinion about slash. i do read angst a lot, (not
the mindless, lets-get-a-piece-of-kenobi-ass kind), sometimes i read them when
i'm unhappy. it is kind of related to psychology. but with self-reflection,
resolution, and the likes, my dependency on them is lessening :-)
