This took too long, and everyone outside of Chapel Hill knows it. Butch

Everyone outside of Chapel Hill, anyway.
The people who run the University of North Carolina were the last to know,

I believe that the general rule is, the longer the race, the longer the
taper. I see no reason why the taper for an ultra race would be shorter than
that of a marathon. I feel that a person's endurance is like an onion. It
has layers, and the farther you go, the more layers you peel off. How you
feel in the first few miles may have to do with how you trained the week
before the race day. Around mile 20, you will feel the effect of your
training a couple weeks back. And when you go further, you w

Being close to a trail is very important to me. Within 10 mins is ideal. If
it's farther than that and you have to drive anyway, 2 miles and 4 miles are
not that different. My office used to be close to a bridle park and almost
all my mileage was run there. Since we moved to downtown, the gym is
downstairs, I run 25 miles on the treadmill every week.

The best swimmers incorporate flexibility training into their regimen for
