I sometime feel if I didn't like some work the first time,
after listening to it once or twice more, I began to love them.
I still think it is a learning procedure.
Isn't it good to be able to enjoy more music?
Really, every famous classical composer has reasons to be
famous. And it is our ears to discover beauty.

I don't tend to favour music. On the other hand, I found listening, just like
practicing, is very plastic.
I always think there is an active role in appreciating music. If you reject
something too early, it is to your bad that you might
lose it all.

yet for now, my favourite pianist for schubert, probably mozart too, is
brendel. in some sense, schubert is meant to be reserved and restrained
most of the time. yet in brendel's rendition, the nuances in
tempo and hue are exploited touchingly underneath the superficial
elegance with such expression that even little pieces can outlive
their forms and go beyond mere exiquisiteness or sentimentality and
makes one feel that it is really life |

发帖数: 585 | 4 I got obsessed with Liszt these days. LIsting to Leif Olf Andnes 's Liszt
recital everyday when analyzing my data. I especiallylike his Mephisto Waltz.
So dynamical and dancy. I am not sure what happened to me. I used to being
unable to enjoy Liszt ' s music. Is it becuase the pianist? I even really like
Dante Sonata and his other works. But Memphisto Waltz is indeed a favourite
for concerts. |

strong and spicy, reminds me of Guerlain Shalimar. but as it drys down, it
has more layers than Shalimar. I have to admit that it can be too strong for
some people, but I definitely prefer it over Noir and Shalimar. I like the
confidence in coco.:-) |
