关于Federer和Nadal – 不管喜欢不喜欢，这两个人在眼下就是男子网坛的主旋

鼎盛时期的federer未免太boring了。走下神坛的federer才是最有魅力的。

来cover tuition。
但是去年家庭报税大于20万，如实填写肯定拿不到federal financial aid。很不幸大
部分家庭收入都是老婆的，我的微薄收入都用于家庭开销，我自己账面存款不到5000.
我觉得：可不可以婚姻状态填写"seperating",然后只给网站显示我自己的W2,这样我就
够资格申请federal financial aid。
从未申请过federal financial aid，没有任何经验，请大家给个建议。多谢！ |

怀疑是不是算错了。
我和LD married file jointly. 去年LD全年是H1b，我是10月1号后才H1b的，然后我发
现我的 w2 #3 social security
wages和 #5 medicare wages都只有20+K，所以#4 social security tax withheld还有
#6 medicare tax withheld 都很
少。LD的 #3 和 #5 都很高，所以withheld的#4/6也比较多。
用turbotax online算了一下，我们file jointly后，要补federal tax 8k多，state
tax ~ 1k。如果file separately，要补
federal tax 3k 多，state tax退1k多。
要补的这么多federal tax是不是都 |

，结果我们欠了联邦一万刀。
举个例子：LD的同一个公司的2009和2010的W2 (每年都工作了部分时间）
2009
wages: 52737
Federal tax withheld: 7868
Social security tax withheld: 511
Medicare: 120
Total tax withheld: 16%
2010
Wages:42450
Federal: 2080
Social security tax: 2918
Medicare: 682
Total tax withheld: 13%
叫的税都差不多，可是明显2010年 federal 少很多，所有的税都跑到social security
tax里面去了。结果今天算税的时候，发现全家要欠联邦很多钱。
请问是不是哪里出了问题啊？Social security tax也算作联邦税么？ |
