That's a load of BS. Matches and lighters are forbidden on flight. Someone
gotten those on board means initial safety check before plane took off
failed. The ONLY proper procedure was to conduct a more thorough safety
check. The captain took a calculated risk, but that doesn't mean it was the
correct action. The passengers also took a calculated risk when they

around spring of 2007. But unlike so many of his supporters, I never
experienced a kind of emotional response to his candidacy. I never felt his
election would change everything about American politics or government, that
