1. The Bounce
Before even beginning the testing of the ball I performed a bounce test to
compare the bounce of the DHS 3 star plastic ball to the Butterfly 3 Star
Celluloid ball. The plastic ball has a lower bounce peak and is less
responsive on the table surface, this is because of the slightly larger size
of the new ball and also it's plastic material composition.

The mythical Hope Pass was about to get real. But before that we had to
cross meadows, swamps, and even a river. We had to walk through water 5,6
times, before the climb toward Hope Pass starts. When I hit the trail, it
became immediately obvious that this will be hiking, not running (unless you
are Kilian Jornet or Anton Krupicka, perhaps). I had hiked up 14ers in each

It was a little past 7 on Sunday morning, Aug. 28th, 2011. The Boeing 757
jet I was on just climbed to about 30,000 feet and started to cruise to MSP.
Leaving the land of Oregon behind, I fell asleep in no time.

Just saw and test drove the CLA 250 FINALLY
Just test dove the CLA 250 at my neighborhood dealership. They are putting a
$2991 markup on the car right now! They said preorders are not getting
charged the markup so that's kinda cool i guess.
Here's some pictures (non sports package) and my thoughts on the car. Got
the keys to a base CLA and just played around with it. The car's exterior is

It was just past 8am, and I found myself in Bear Mountain, NY, having been
running for the last 3 hours. A few minutes ago I was at the aid station at
mile 13.9, snatched a few boiled potatoes dipped in salt, grabbed a quarter

Heading back from Twin Lakes, there were immediately a few miles' steep
climb. I walked up just like everybody else. The walking continued for a
couple miles, and I wasn't feeling well. Somehow I seemed to have been
drained of energy. I felt dizzy and nauseated, my legs felt weak, and I was
wobbling as I hiked up the dirt trail. I had a pro bar in my camelbak but I

Leg 29: empty the tank
My 3rd leg is my hardest leg. It starts with a continous 3.5 mile climb,
which gets gradually steeper. It then follows a 3 mile downhill almost as
steep. The course started out in the shade. "Nice", I said to myself. First
mile was pretty steep, I decided not to look at the GPS except at mile
splits and run by feel. Split 1 was 8:10, which was surprisingly fast. The
hill levels out a little after mile 1, just enough to relax my quads a

whiskey saturday night, woke up at noon, took my daughter to the playground
and ended with a super meltdown, my daughter refused to enter the door and
my wife had to sit and talk to her outside our apartment for a good half

My first triathlon race. First summary of performance: total time 5:12:45,
swimming split 1.2 miles/33:42, surprisingly fast, actually, much faster
than I have ever swum in a pool! biking split 56 miles/2:48:18, excellent by
