depends on what type of stones you have, most of kidney stones are calcium
related, sucha s calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate, reduce calcium
intake only helps for certain group of hypercalciuria patients; so in
addition to water intake, exercise, also low sodium and low protein diet
would help,
if it's uric acid stone then the same life style modification for gout and
treatment wise would be similar,
if it's infected stones like struvite stones then treat the infection,

- that may not be sufficient. My grandpa also has terrible gout, and he
is unwilling to take medication. He follows strict diet control, which
only include vegetable & white meat (basically only fish & chicken).
In US, major medicine for chronic management are Probenecid &
Allopurinol, which I believe are also used in China. A newer one is
Febuxostat, and I am not sure it is better than Allopurinol. |

available as OTC drugs. However, it carries some risk for chronic use, such
as GI ulcer, kidney damage etc. My grandpa has gout as well and I think
most drugs are available in China now. They all carry some adverse effects,
which make them difficult for chronic usage. Diet control is an
alternative, and of course success depends on personality. |

Apparently, it is not something that we see commonly in the US market. You
just have to be amazed that things like that have huge success in China.
Medically, protein supplement is rarely indicated in healthy individual. We
have easy access to protein in today's diet. Over consumption of protein
increases the nitrogen metabolite and can increase risk of diseases such as
gout. |

个几个星期基本上每个星期能减一磅。
然而， 我的厄运从上周的一次扭伤开始。
开始是右脚的跟腱扭伤， 一个星期后， 基本好转。 可是大脚趾的关节处开始莫名的
肿胀疼痛， 白天只要不碰， 基本不疼， 晚上9点以后， 很疼。
我有痛风家族史， 我父亲和大伯都是痛风。 所以我很注意， 从来没有喝过任何酒精
类饮料，不吃任何动物内脏， 几乎很少吃骨头汤或海鲜， 但是我还是没有逃过基因的
宿命。 医生说我可能一辈子吃药， 即使我减重加锻炼也没用。
我开始吃Allopurinol & Indomethacin.
冒昧的把我的情况贴到这里， 希望有类似情况的病友或者有经验的医生能给我些建议
。

acute attack, such as Tylenol and NSAIDs (ie Naproxen, Ibuprofen).
Major treatment for gout in acute phase include: NSAIDs, colchicine,
corticosteroid, for long term treatment include: allopurinol, probenecid.
All of them need prescription. |

4:30回家，身体没有什么特别异样的感觉。
只是从一年前开始，感觉脑子有点不太好使，经常拿东忘西，记忆力有些下降，而且经
常出现眼睛有点涨的感觉，某些天经常有记忆力不能集中的情况，特别是下午，每天下
班回家就感到很疲劳。有些时候心口也会有一些异样的感觉，但是不是很强烈。另外就
是前段时间突然出现了痛风的（gout）情况，但是吃了啥秋水仙碱之后，好长时间没有
复发。当时一度怀疑我的肾有些什么毛病，但是也没有检测出什么毛病来，后来就一直
吃六味地黄丸，效果还算不错。另外一点就是我经常饭后会剧烈淌汗，而且比较怕热，
问医生，医生说有些人就是这样，不必担心。
本人的身体状况：上次回国的时候，我妈带我到医院体检，查出有些轻微脂肪肝，然后
血脂有些偏高，而且稍微有点心律不齐，医生说问题不大。两个月前公司集体体检，依
然检测出血脂偏高，胆固醇偏高，心脏没有检查出什么问题，胸腔X光也没有发现啥东
西。
我这个人不经常运动，不知道这个是不是主要原因，现在体重180磅。

needed, physical Therapy may help. But it is better to do some imaging
studies, like x-ray, MRI. If severe, consider surgery including knee
replacement. Anyway, better to figure out what is the reason first, other
than osteoarthritis, could be gout, Pseudogout, etc, then there are other
treatments. |
