caynon的长度差不多，走起来的确轻松了很多。而且因为后半程基本是在山边上走，
景色也开阔了不少。爬到顶后风景不错，适合吃个午饭睡个午觉啥的。建议大家没事的
时候去走走。下来还可以在tailhead的picnic area烤肉吃。:-)

锐减14.2%和9.8%，近三月跌幅骤增。现代汽车海外销量仅为30.7362万辆，同比跌幅高
达16.5%，起亚汽车海外销量也下跌10.1%。两大车企业绩低迷很大程度上受到对华销量
锐减影响。鉴于现代起亚4月在华销量仅约5.1万辆，同比下滑65.1%之多，料5月销量颓
势依旧。
韩中“萨德”矛盾发酵的3月以来，抵制韩货的情绪蔓延，中国部分消费者仍对韩系车
敬而远之。中国是现代和起亚的全球最大市场，去年在华销量各占全球销量的23.5%和
21.5%。
除了现代和起亚之外，韩国通用同期销量4.3085万辆，同比减少17.0%；雷诺三星销售2

DETROIT — Hyundai and Kia are recalling 1.4 million cars and SUVs in the U.
S., Canada and South Korea because the engines can fail and stall,
increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall covers some of the Korean automakers' most popular models in the

……你說可能受了個人主義影響的話，使我想起B.C. 地質的王洪楨來Bristol時和我說
的話。他說我們中國的top intellectuals越來越和中國的根脫了連系，慢慢變成了一
種國際人，正和印度和猶太的intellectual走上了同一路徑。這種說法不能否認的正確

杨振宁
黄昆和我在西南联大研究院是同班同学。我们于1944年得到物理学硕士学位。一年以后
，我们先后出国，去修读博士学位。他去了英国，我去了美国。出国以后我们不常通信
，可是每次提笔写信却总是写得很长。1947年2月或3月我给他写了一封长信。那时我正
在Allison的实验室工作，不很顺利，所以信上一定用了disillusionment一字。可惜这
封信我没有留下副本，而他也没有把原信保留下来。但是他的回信却在我的来往信件档
案之中。现在我把他给我的这封信打好复印在下面。
这封信很有意思。它描述了他（和我）作研究生时候的一些企求与失望的心态。也描述
了他对导师Mott的评价。关于Bernard Shaw的一段话也非常有意思。相信物理系的研究
生会从这封信中得到一些鼓励与启发。

After visiting Taroko Gorge, you may return to City of Taipei northernly,
then either through 雪山隧道 or skirt along the northeastern coast. The
alternative is a side trip to 清水斷崖, back to Hualian and board a ferry (a
steamer actually) with the car overnight and land in Taipei.
I took the ferry decades ago (after visiting Taroko). I have not been to 清
水斷崖 or Taiwan's northeast. |
