最惊讶的是他家401k不match =。=？！
fresh CS MS 我觉得base有点少？不过我国内是个二本烂校 是不是有这个原因=。=？
现在的工作是 65k + 15k （两份）401K 4%，而且全职工才开始上班不到2周 接
groupon这个是不是有点损。。 我真的不是故意的 是第一个offer刚发的时候groupon
才开始面 。。。 现在这个公司做Security的也很不错(tenable network security,
Nessus) 但是groupon那边似乎机会会多一些并且能学到的东西也多一些 所以还是倾向
于去groupon？
还有就是女朋友还在这边念书 去芝加哥就得分开唉。。。

过了一轮，
第二轮输在没有前端开发经验上，
hr说报销我的车票。（我坐火车从DC赶到纽约，为了省钱搭了深夜班车，回DC做了中国
城巴士，最后开销是110不到），结果groupon直接给我寄了200刀的支票……
我知道，ruby的程序员不好找，尤其是有开发经验的ruby程序员难找。
他们对我蛮厚道的，
即使在第一轮就知道我没有前端开发经验还让我去面试了5个小时。（我不觉得这5个小
时是折磨，而是锻炼，对我是有帮助的，尤其是有些程序员非常耐心地纠正我一些编写
习惯上的错误）。
而且项目经理在前4个人面试完我以后坚持要跟我聊一下，谈他对ruby开发的看法。
我觉得groupon算是个在重金购买千里马的皇帝吧，没有买到真千里马，也给了把死千
里马的马头卖给他的人一些好处。
我去纽约面试了2次，一次是medidata，一次是groupon，对这里的人印象还是不错的。
他们明知道我的经验不够，或许不能胜任他们的岗位，还是要我参加他们的onsite，然
后给我推荐书籍啊，网站啊，指出某些常见的面试问题啊。探讨他们实际遇到的问题啊。

运气好拿到了A9, Groupon, Twitter的offer。 比较纠结offer的选择。
方向都差不多，search / ranking / recommendation.
Package方面目前Groupon最高，其他可能match不了，但是税后应当也相差不大。
目前考虑到各公司的利弊如下：
A9: Palo Alto office, ranking team，主要做product search的排序算法或feature
方面的工作。感觉Amazon有点血汗工厂，A9据说好点，不知整体culture是否类似。
还有一点A9不管饭，每天跑出去吃饭还是挺郁闷的。
Groupon: Palo Alto office, package给的很大方，做的是deal的search和
recommendation相关。感觉公司口碑差点，而且听朋友说有点走下坡路的感觉。
Twitter: SF office, recommendation team. 相比A9和Groupon, 目前package低一点

years) + 5.4wRSU (但第一年只有5%， 5%+15%+40%+40%）+ 1w的relocation(for two
year)

base 12.25w (好像也没bonus）
RSU 10w(four year)

不知道该怎么计算交税的情况==湾区这工资算下来和西雅图的差了多少呢……表示没啥
概念，就知道加州多了个州税9.3%，租房贵了点，另外不考虑买房的事情，大致用
excel算了下好像每个月差1000不到？

Director……

时候想着要买房子可以买家具所以就跳了，我个人觉得这是个很好的deal。不过这个

Groupon看似门槛不高，但是是要靠大量的销售人员的

其实我个人觉得Groupon的模式和C.H.Robinson很类似
后者是物流行业的巨头，none asset based 3PL，140亿的市值

groupom的问题在于其商业模式本身。
1 太多线下activity，成本居高不下, scalability是个问题，groupon goods是条出路
，不过现在他们做的并不好。
2 对于商家：groupon带来的用户忠诚度太低。都是些捡便宜的客户，这些客户其实商
家并不喜欢
3 对用户：想买的产品往往没打折，打折的都是一些不怎么样的产品。用户粘性太差。
总体来说，个人对groupon的走势及其不看好，搞不好破产也有可能。
Priceline
priceline的逆向竞拍代表着一个未来经济运行的一个新方向，那就是经济活动中，从
seller主导变成buyer主导。具体可以看哈佛商学院的Doc Seal写的一本书，叫
intention economy，非常insightful的一本书。
个人认为priceline的股价长期来说还有非常多的涨头。也许priceline应该分拆一下股
票，现在股价太高了，散户一看上千元的股价就不敢买了。

上找了几家，报价都是300-500美元。
但是，不知道到底要付多少钱。
买了房子的很多人给我推荐用 homedepot 的red beacon, 或者 home advisor的
service magic。
我当然也尝试了 craigslist。
最后在groupon看到有59，立刻下单。
很快预约了，果然是骗子，上门后，立刻改口799。说groupon上的59是说着玩的。
本来想投诉的，发现，美国有电视台专门做过这个报道，讲述这种空调管道清洗的骗局。

ecoupons, local business provides deals to attract customers, customers even
prepaid them, although at a discount. it will bring lots of first time

很是感兴趣，只是有两个问题：
1. 是不是买了Groupon， 哪怕没使用 也不能退啊。因为只会在seward待2天而且还有
其他活动。如果因为天气，飞机公司取消了活动；或者现在去订已经没有空位了。是不
是Groupon也不可退了啊？
2. 不明白“Limit 1 per visit”是啥意思：一个人一次只能用一张？如果我买两张，
两个人可不可以一起参加活动呢？
