The thing I hate about being a veterinarian
In my day to day life as a veterinarian, there is something that I dread
doing. This particular thing makes me squirm, twitch, drool and retch. I try
to avoid it at all costs, and I consider myself to be blessed if I have
technicians willing to do it for me. Want to guess what it is?

我確實有些over-romantic to her mom.因爲我依然相信人世閒的母愛。再殘忍的母親
,在選擇要和骨肉分離的時候,都會有千千萬萬的顧慮。所以我相信在她母親選擇離婚
的那一刻,想到的不僅是報復她父親,還因爲有愛。不可否認,她的母親很自私,很粗
心,可當她的母親看到她的禮物的時候,卻後悔她錯怪女兒的時候,留下的眼淚是因爲
感動而流出的,这样的瞬间只有lz能够体会那种委屈,因为她也深深地爱她妈妈,才会有
那样的体会。一個粗心的母親能夠折磨自己的女兒intentionally?我很難相信。
可往往在听家庭問題的時候,如果只有聽到一面的聲音,是很難弄清真正問題的,这也
许是我heartless的地方吧.我真的希望听到lz说一些她母亲能给她留下的一些好的回忆

有的有道理。不过“中国人从英文翻译成中文,经常不注意忠实於原著。而是任意加油
添酱,把翻译当成是创作”,这个不都是“缺乏敬业精神”,有的就是觉得意译更好。
尤其他举例的电影片名。魂断蓝桥、孤星血泪是好还是不好?风气也有变迁,早一代的
片名意译多,现在的直译多吧。
蒋经国那句,作者的解释不对吧。“did little good”不是“的确有了点好处”,是
几乎没什么好处。他批译文没有翻译后半句,可译文里明明有。
马克思的原文是宗教是人民的鸦片,前面一句是被压迫心灵的叹息,整体是反宗教的。
网上有篇潘岳的文章说“宗教是统治阶级麻醉人民的鸦片”是列宁提出来的,但wiki上
列宁关于宗教是鸦片的引文也没这个意思。混乱……马克思的原文:

Animals are driven by their instincts. I don't know whether the old woman
with sluggish breasts and wrinkled face was again playing a role in “
INSTINCT THREE” or something sharing such genre. Or maybe she finally found
