第一，先不慌，心情先稳住，兵来将挡，水来土淹。我先给讲个worst case。2010年4月30的移民局decision。某秘鲁人，96年11月12入境，身份96年12月3日过期。一直非法居留，有非法打工。140 with PD 4-30-01 批准。07年7月16日，移民局发出递解通知。07年10月，他递交了485。移民局的最后决定，他之前非法打工不影响他现在转换身份。这个case应该算worst scenario了吧，还是一样皆大欢喜的结局。所以别担心。
第二，H1的过期时间是你的i94上的时间，也就是你的797收据过期的时间。你跟单位合同满或者辞职或者lay off，你算out of status，但是不算unlawful presence. 原则上H1是没有任何grace period的。但是，以你的收据上的时间为准。H1上应该有i94的，以i94的时间为准。你先查一下那个。
建议，赶紧找工作。我个人认为如果你能很快找到工作，就不用转其他身份。

I485 说明上说 You may apply I-485 if an immigrant visa number is immediately
available to you based on an approved immigrant petition.
对于Eb1B 140 已经通过的，是不是自动就满足以上条件了，不用再上USCIS查什么PD是
不是Current了吧？
照片背后要写姓名和Alien Number（A-Number), A-number 是什么number啊？没申请过
I-485的是不是就没有A-number？ 没有就不写是吧？

估计我的感想可能会让很多人不舒服，所以就匿名了。
我和老婆两地分居，绿卡大概可以帮助我们快点搬到一起，所以我开始工作之后，就一
直想着要赶紧申绿卡，我老板也答应我说可以在工作半年之后就开始给我申EB1B，从那
时开始就一直在移民版潜水看帖子，看得最多的是“弱case。。。。”之类的帖子，原
因很简单，我觉得我的case很弱，看这一类的帖子基本上想给自己找自信，结果基本上
每次都受打击。因为每次说自己很弱的，通常TMD都不算弱，至少不比我弱。
其实想想这个挺可笑的，我们申绿卡，EB1类的，都要证明我们有多好多好。一方面在
自己的申请材料里面说自己有多优秀，一方面又在版上说什么弱case怎样怎样，不知道
按得什么心思。我提议，以后凡是在这个班上主动说自己的申请多弱多弱的，男的拉出

我H1B和老婆的H4，我们两个在“immigration status”应该填什么啊？

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Tuesday that immigration
reform and a potential Supreme Court nomination wouldn't be on the Senate's
agenda this work period.
Reid laid out his hopes for work on jobs legislation, financial regulatory
reform, and action on a series of stalled nominees during the seven-week
work period before Memorial Day.
