主要做蛋白纯化，然后NMR，AFM，之后molecular simulation之类的（认出我的还请私
下讨论哈，thx）
说实话，爱生物，但是更爱生活，所以不可能接受毕业回国从讲师或者AP混起的高校惨
淡生活。
最近又拜读了不少关于生物没前途的文章，也看了空间上众多牛人风生水起的转行经历
，完全转到金融业或者IT我没想过，但是关于进industry我有几了点疑惑：
像我做的方向，以后在industry可持续发展的空间大不大，考CFA之类的证书对于进
industry有帮助否（有文章说可以考虑去生物公司搞财务，这靠谱么）？
此industry不限美帝或者天朝

关键是看你会不会找，首先你不能去找跟几十万千老竞争的工作，基本上做前期
discovery resarch的大部分工作都有无数背景比你更match，paper比你更好，人脉比
你更广的千老和有industry experience的人跟你竞争。这种工作没有突出背景很难胜
出。就算以后被layoff了还得面对大批竞争者。
但是industry里面有很多上手很容易，但却很看重经验的工作。比如做分析，做
quality，engineering等等。一旦进入这些方向，以后就脱离了千老竞争群体，只跟少
数有相关经验的人竞争。
学校里面学不到这些相关经验怎么办？可以从contractor做起。连contractor都找不到
怎么办？可以自学可以编故事。ELISA大部分人都做过吧，HPLC也有很多人做过吧，不
过industry里面的要求跟学校里面很不一样，去看几本书把技术细节吃透，再把手练熟
，好好学学怎么去做method development和validation，去看看FDA的要求，学一学GMP

，同时能给出有说服力的理由，并不能说是negative. 我有一次面试，一个partner就
直接说他如何不喜欢industry.
我说不喜欢academy的原因是：一，不喜欢申请Funding，因我的专业太贵要有很多钱起
步， 申请钱的过程对我来说是一种torture； 二，搞专业， 太deep and narrow, 工
作环境太isolate， 我想和更多的人打交道。
我说不喜欢industry的理由是：我打小的理想就是当个老师什么的，从没想过去
industry。这是我的真实情况。 后来不喜欢academy了，是自己做了post-doc后琢磨出
来的，也确实不喜欢了。
对于有PhD的人，律所爱问，为什么想转到law? 我就直说我是怎么知道这一行的，然后
学了patent law， 发现我很喜欢这一行， 比如， 喜欢搞文字的东西，喜欢接近新技
术，喜欢分析等等。 你要是真喜欢，会总结出很多理由。说真实情况，发自内心，就
能说服人。

先说下背景：
目前我在一个teaching school, tenure track, 评tenure有research要求，但是比起
很多research university 还是轻松很多的。
工作有一下几点好处：
1。时间非常自由，除了上课，office hour, 和开会，其他时间自由支配
2。teaching evaluation不错，4 out of 5, research每年能发2-3篇，总之比较轻松
目前的问题：
和LD 异地，开车单程5个小时左右。LD在公司工作，不累，LD喜欢工作内容，和同事老
板相处不错。而且公司开始付钱支持LD读书，所以LD不原意来我这边找工作。
最近找到了LD附近的工作，拿到了offer。 新工作比现在的高2万左右，但是因为现在
的工作是9个月，所以平均下来基本上钱是一样的。
纠结以下几个问题：
1。怕industry不稳定，现在的学校很多faculty干了一辈子，稳定而且时间自由；

临近寒假，上海的高校催得很紧。很犹豫。
论待遇，肯定是industry好。但是研发这种事做不到头。
但是副教授爬教授，申青千之类的也很痛苦
因为是独生子女，所以我的长远规划是回国创业捞钱。

我来现身说法，说实话，对于金融等行业industry好一些，关键是钱多轻松就能高30万
如果不是金融这种行业，还是学校好，工业里面毫无技术含量，每天的工作就是和稀泥，
顶多就是打工仔。高级民工，没有前途，如果有phd学位还去工业的话，基本上你的学位算是白搭了还不如master了事的好
学校好歹自己是老板，能干自己的事业，不要相信faculty只能作咨询的传说，说白了，
consulting能挣几个钱？开公司才是硬道理，信不信由你。 |

within their borders. I do not think so: Japan seemed to be a poster boy of
technocrats and bureaucrats offering a guiding/nurturing hand--until after
1989 when it seemingly can do nothing right. The Economist magazine is
doubtful, like me. But it appears a McKinsey report is more optimistic.

两个难处是，一来，non-profit的经验，industry不太喜欢。
二来，很现实的是，4月1号办H1B，10月1号才能生效。没有OPT之后，让我感觉跳槽几
乎没有可能啊。
有哪位可以讲讲，如何从non-profit跳巢去industry？

发帖数: 264 | 48 进入industry工作了三四年了，都是中大型公司。最近突然觉得会计这行竞争好强烈，
能够晋升的不少都是在firm干过的人。自己考过cpa，有执照，觉得在industry一点作
用都没有，工作上也没有太大前途，不知道什么时候是个头。最近特别想去firm干干，
学得东西多。
请问版上的同学，有没有相同经历的从industry再跳回CPAfirm的，大家都是如何找到
firm的工作的，firm好像基本都是从校园招聘。
