现在的公司快没钱了，工作累，压力大，工资也低。制药公司的工作非常难找。
所在城市的医学院有一个public health informatics certificate program, 想读一
下，学习新的统计和数据分析的知识，然后一边找相关的工作。如果形式不妙，就去读
这个学校的 MPH,这个certificate program 学的课程可以算研究生课程的学分。 学费
估计是5500$/year.
对工作的要求很低，只要稳定能糊口就行了。在生物这行里蹉跎这么多年，已经非常现
实了。
不知道的这个想法行不行，想听听行业里的人的意见。

-- 如你所说，它是给基础研究提供服务的。
你说的建healthcare数据库我觉得实际上是IT（或更具体点，ORACLE database
developer）job。这个我把它叫做medical informatics或clinical informatics，一
般由非临床出身的IT人士来干。
我原贴中指的是那些healthcare professionals (e.g. RN, clinical manager)在本职
工作中需要使用这些database里面的临床数据，那么就要至少知道how to log in to
database and dig out the data. 他们也可能参与maintain and update the
clinical database（即往database里面加病人数据）。这个我把它叫做health

这个职位prefer申请人的方向是health-informatics or bio-informatics。但是我看了开的课，基本上是常规的CS的课程，没有health-informatics or bio-informatics方向的课程。

其次，PACB以它目前的技术，平台的价格，和目前应用的范围来讲，它只能做小众市场
。这是一个已经出来很多年的技术，除非在技术和成本上大幅度改善，否则我看不到很
明亮的未来。当然，这说的不是一天一个星期一个月的走势。短期内做空做多它，或者
说几乎任何一只股票，都有可能获利。从分散风险的角度看，我认为我自己投一点钱在
PACB上其实也是可以的。我曾经做空过PACB，小赚了一点，但是在它跳崖之前的几分钟
我胆怯了，获小利走人了 --- 空悲切。为什么说PACB小众？一是成本，平台和通量的
成本。二是应用对序列长度的要求，只有de novo需要长度，所以说除了对于有
structural variation的基因来说，版上的你我和其他所有人类都不需要de novo。也
就是说，de novo除了在科研领域里，它在医疗应用领域没有什么大用途。当然如果
