Little never had a chance; next up might not, either

One inning. One decision.
Dusty Baker, who stuck with one of his ace pitchers far too long in a
climactic October game, remains a savior in Chicago.
Grady Little, who stuck with his ace pitcher far too long in a climactic
October game, always will be branded with a Scarlet Letter in New England.

I feel bad that Grady Little has been fired, because he did a great job in his
two years as Red Sox manager (winning 93 games in 2002 and 95 this year). He
deserves plenty of credit for leading the Red Sox to the ALCS.
What led to Little's demise was his decision to stick with Pedro Martinez in
the eighth inning of Game 7 of the ALCS against the Yankees. But I would have
done the same thing. Little decided to sink or swim with his best pitcher

It's just all too normal to fire the coach that lost a series on obvious
mistakes in recent years: Art Howe chose to start Zito only once last
year and then he paid the price and consequently got kicked out. Baker
first unbelievably blew a 5-run 7th inning lead and then mistrusted the
"Cheeseburg", losing the WS last year. Then PooFooya! He was dumped by
Giants afterward. So what happened to Little was only understandable.
Actually Little already got lucky that he wasn't fired right after ALDS.

Why Baseball IS Better Than Sex
10. It is legal to play professionally.
9. You can count on it at least four times a week.
8. You have a coach to tell you when to advance.
7. When you are tired, you always get relieved.
6. If you strike out once, you always have two more chances for a hit.
5. Up to four people can score at once.
4. Pop ups are frequent.
3. 30,000 people cheer when you score.
2. After seven innings, you get to stretch.
1. You can get a home run without any foreplay.

NLCS第一场,hershier主投,
shutout了mets八局,dodgers领先两分
可惜第九局牛棚被mets连下三分,到手的胜利没了。
Game 3, hershier

I actually think it is a very good signing by Ed "screw up" Wade. Corey
Lidle has never been a great pitcher. His ERA, except those two years
in A's, has never been outstanding. But he is a groundball pitcher and
an inning eater. Phillies needs such a guy, especially with a small park

上回看比赛时候看中了今天Safeco给发rally towel,这东西确实

Theo has only gained a few credits in signing pitchers,
while most of signing turned to nightmares.
The good signing would include timlin, probably Foulke in 2004.
In 2006, he signed Tavarez and Rudy CNN in bullpen, who
sucked from the beginning. One well-known joke was when sometimes
redsox fell behind in a game something like 8:3 or 5:0
in the fifth or sixth inning,
and Francona sent one of these two to pitch, fans complained
why so early to wave a human-surrendering flag so early.

There are many big acquisitions this offseason. The biggest of the bunch
might be Daisuke Matsuzaka. I watched clips of D-Mat in YouTube, and figured
he has great stuff. Of course only highlights go there but we can safely
say he will be a good bet for success in MLB. The problem with D-Mat is that
although he is young, he has pitched too many innings. Unless he has a
rubber arm, his elbow is a disaster waiting to happen. In any case, however,
RSOX will not lose money. The

Phillies will score runs, a lot of runs. They simply have the best offense
in NL, imo.
Hamels was a rookie last year. The only problem with Hamels was his
durability. He is pretty much injury prone. If he can pitch 210 inning next
year, he will be in top 3 in CY voting. But this is a big if.

When we talk about elite pitchers, we usually classify them into two
categories: finesse pitchers and power pitchers. By finesse, we refer to
pinpoint control. They approach the game in such a way that batters are kept
off balance. They do not issue many bases on balls. In fact, BB/9 inning
pitched has always been a great caliber to evaluate control. Vary rarely can
a pitcher issue less than one walk per nine over a season's span. In fact,

Believe or not, Padres is your two time defending NL West champion.
It is quite a feat, especially considering the highest paid Padres in these
two seasons actually did not contribute much. In 05' Phil Nevin posted a 300

As I type this it is now the 5th inning and a tie game. If Rick White
comes into this game at any point in time while the ball game is still
close, John Mclaren is officially the dumbest manager in all of baseball
and I don't want to see ANYBODY defending him.
Of course this is a "just in case" thing and let's all hope that
White doesn't come anywhere close
