At the very last stage of the installation, it pup out a warning, saying
some file corrupted from my CD.
I download the install Image file directly from the Ubuntu web. How is
this possible?
So I tried the second time using the same CD, with a little cleaning. THis

all the file from CD to my laptop, it stop there. i have to turn it off by

I mounted the install cd (from iso image download) on my tftp server.
Now she can boot up using network (PXE) and she can see all the install
files for ubuntu, but not sure which file to run to kick off the install (
kind of like winnt is used to install windows)

I tried to install with binaries but don't have access to /usr/local which the
binaries try to install to.
Then I tried to install from source, configureed OJ but had building errors.
Not sure the reason but probably that I didn't use GNU Make. the install notes
say that AIX Make frequently has problems with GCC makefiles so GNU Make is
recommended.

forget which file. If you do that, you can just use the install script.
If you already get the excutable file, try run install script for fonts only.
Otherwise, look at the INSTALL instruction with cxterm to Install the
Chinese Font manually. Fonts are seperated from the software. |

to W2k.
Then after installation, edit c:\boot.ini, get rid of winME and delete its
folder.
That's ALL.
But I recommend you keep WinME.
(1)MS does not allow a machine that has higher version of windows to install
a lower version of windows. So it'll be harder to install winME again on it.
I kept win98 on my computer although I have XP and 2003.
