请的EAD，并搬家到B城。搬家后很快在USCIS申请了地址变更，也在新地址收到确认信
。2个月后申请续EAD。结果收到如下通知：
Preliminary processing of the above application or petition has been
completed, and it has been transferred to the USCIS office at: ××××（注
：A城USCIS Office）. That office will notify you when they schedule an
interview on the application or petition. Any further inquiries should be
made to that office.
我一是不知道为什么EAD还有Interview，二是奇怪我已经到B城了还要我到A城去
Interview。更着急的是眼看EAD快到期，还没有收到interview 通知 |

got any mails for the interview. I called USCIS 30 days after I got the
notice, and they gave me a service ticket number. I was told they were going
to send me the interview notification again. However, I didn't get the
second mail either. Today I checked my status and I missed my interview. I

我的Pd是在2014年6月就current了，一起申请的同事大概9月拿到卡的，我的还是永远
的initial review，期间两次SR，也找了参议员，众议院，可能运气不好，除了第一次
SR得到垃圾回复外，没有任何人回复，议员除了给我回信说我的表格填的不好要重填之
后就再也没有回信。一直到感恩节，状态突然变成了ready to schedule interview，
这才明白我是中了大奖，case被转到local office了。
12月收到信，说interview被定在1月了，这下心定了，仔细准备了材料。网上似乎关于
Eb2面试的案例不多（废话，这么倒霉的人当然不多），我也写一个供以后的人参考吧。
到了日子，零下5度飘着小雪，按照信上说的7:30准时到了，门居然没开，一群老黑在
门口排队，我还以为走错了地方，后来知道这里是federal building，里面除了移民局

This would be less like a citizenship interview with defined US and personal
history questions, but more like a visa interview.
In reality, how many EB1 are at Einstein level and not padded in someway?
And how many employment based EB2/3 sponsor did actually go through rigorous
job postings and interviewing citizens for the position? It will be too
much trouble for employer to sponsor that. |

Nothing hard, most of the time, that IO (a white gentleman) was reviewing

LP怀孕的时候，身体不好，出了几次状况，就决定辞职回家，不奢求什么工作孩子两不
误。
生娃的时候，在医院熬了20多个小时，最后医生说必须剖，否则有生命危险。LP被推进
剖腹产产房，我在外面等待了10来分钟才允许进去。现在想来，那10分钟是我迄今为止
最揪心的时刻。在产房一直握住她的手，原先设想的什么拍摄、记录。。统统都是浮云
。唯一做的，就是握住手，相依为命，可能就是这样。

assistant positions and one for summer internship. I had four on-site
interviews: one for each area and I got two offers in Health and Life. The
compensations are similar.
Here is my profile: PhD and some computer programming experience and two

发帖数: 1467 | 30 今天有一个同胞到实验室interview, 有一点小小的感想，拿出来与大家share.
1， 英语不是母语是事实，但不要在作报告时说自己的英语不好。中国人习惯谦虚，但
老外真的不认同这一点。今天的同胞英语并不差，但说了"my english is still bad",
感觉不够自信，即使真这样认为，也不要在interview 时说。
2，talk 一个小时左右，但要做两手准备，各个实验室风格不一样。有的实验室习惯在
报告结束时再问问题，但我们组的习惯是组会报告时不停的提问题，interview的报告
也不例外，这样虽然交流的不错，但有时也会打断思路，而且时间会较长。如果有太多
的data，而又被打断多次时，要果断勇敢的要求先结束整个talk，如有具体的问题可以
过后交流，因为interview 大多会安排和组里的人谈的。主要是觉得思路被打断容易紧
张，准备的东西容易忘掉，影响发挥，而且有人提问喜欢究细节，不要和他们多纠缠。
今天同胞本有四个类容，但因为被打断次数太多，结果只谈了一个，挺可惜的。

定全是这四个，但意思是差不离
关于教授的选择有几个问题请教一下前辈：
1、我当时PS里面每个学校都有提至少3个教授和他们的研究，表示很感兴趣，其中几位
也曾有邮件往来，那么是不是这些PS里面的教授就一定要选（我听说面试的时候会
refer to PS）？
2、大牛教授还是AP比较好？之前一直认为是前者，记得前两天看到一个帖子说大组里
面的postdoc都不好过，更别提grad了。
3、中国教授的选择？原本打算每个学校选两个中国教授，我想毕竟同根同族应该会有
加分的吧！但是中国学姐说千万不要，在她看来中国教授能不能给我加分很是未知数，
但是美国教授一定很公平。有接触过几个中国的AP和拿到tenure的老板，说实话交流沟
通起来确实没有和老美爽快直接。感觉和老美交谈起来应该更顺畅，就是不知道学术起
来会怎么样。
我知道应该选自己最感兴趣，方向自己最擅长的老板，但是想先进去，然后rotation的
时候具体仔细选。

觉很好。关键是举止不能轻浮，要表现得很mature和professional。原来俺老板面试
postdoc基本上就是这标准。

第一个还是我的dream job: research coordinator, 哈哈，其实也就是lab manager的
头衔，其实也就是个phone interview，但是我实在很高兴啊，因为PI是个chair啊，我
主要负责管显微镜啊，不用做很多试验啊，啦啦啦
另外2个是biological scientist, 都是正式的面试，一个是在血液实验室的另外一个
是在妇科实验室的

After the traumatic issue with Delta, I flew to Utah this morning. Chief of
Hem/Onc division and program coordinator sent me email and called me that
they understood the situation and they rescheduled all the interviews. So my
interview started at 11:00am. I was grateful that I didn't lose anything
and actually I saved one night's hotel stay.

interview schedules just a couple days ahead. However, most programs always

Yes it's possible that you're the only interviewee for a solo interview. If
you're a confident, outgoing person with great communication skills, solo
interview offers you a great opportunity to shine. Otherwise group interview

发帖数: 92 | 48 总共有八个被面者。我一个IMG，其他都是周边州的AMG，我知道的都是当天早上坐车或
开车来的，只有我是前晚到的。
总体的感觉这个interview非常easy-going。面我的只有两个faculty和PD，没有见到
Chair。第一个是PsychD, 非常年轻的MM，巨nice无比，我甚至都有点觉得她善解人意
到过头了。她PhD比我还晚毕业的，幸好没说我千老做的时间太长了。否则得给她说我
是多么的love science, love research,自己都觉得惭愧。不过她一定相信我说的
love learning了。她提到了现在psychiatry 中引入了Eastern culture 的成分。这时
候我一下就来劲了，说我是Chinese culture的粉丝, doing a lot of things related
. 然后一个一个数给她听，其实就是我从小到大接触的东东，现在都没时间搞了。把她
说得眼睛都瞪大了。她说如果我到这个program，她也要通过我接触这些东西。另外一
个有意思的是，这个MM说，她刚休了10天的假，回来啥都不记得了。我说去哪了呀，她

1. Always take your dress suite and iv documents in your carry-on. Never
ever put them in check-in luggages. (accident happens, all the time. you do
not want to risk your next-day's interview or pre-iv dinner for delayed
luggage delivery or lost of luggage.)
