entry level的职位，non-profit组织，将近50分钟。
本来是直接给on site的，很快又通知先来个phone interview，提前一个多星期就安排
好了，但因为紧张外加信心不足（找了好几个月了，已经接近绝望了），准备得也不充
分，但还好phone interview的人都很不错（我都没搞清是两人还是三人），开头挺好
，过程也不错，收尾太烂了，连句客气话吞吞吐吐还夹着生硬，主要是一直没听清对方
的名字，：（
OPT开始一个多月了，非STEM，而且OPT开始的时间也cover不到明年4月1日。
不好意思直接求bless，就跟大家share一点面试小技巧吧：把关键的信息打印或写在纸
上，然后把纸贴在墙上，phone interview的时候手持手机（插着充电器，以免时间过
长没电），站在墙前，效果还不错，是我今天因为准备不足压力过大情急之下想出来的
。 |

Could anyone give some suggestions/comments? What can be done in the future

truth... They just said: Your performance was good but we picked another
candidate...
How could she find out the reasons? Send e-mails to these interviewers?

一直到下午4点，而且她给我订的返程机票是5点半，哪怕我愿意自己掏钱多交一天旅馆
费也没时间去取行李，所以我必须一直提着我的行李去和各个interviewer见面？求解

感觉amazon得recruiter在面试时间上不是很flexible，我想约1周之后，人家不同意，
说一定要2天之内，所以也没怎么准备。
问的题倒是不难，跟版上很多人比容易的多
1st phone interview
1. hr 问题
2.find intersection of 2 arrays
3.design locker renting system
面试的是个印度人，不过没有什么口音，估计是在这边长大的，人很nice
用纸和笔写，然后告诉他
2nd phone interview
1. hr question
2. shuffer an array
面试的是个中国人，不知道他是累了还是不耐烦了，总叹气，我也有点紧张，他说话居
然听得不是很清。
这次是给我一个link，我在这边coding，他在那边就能看到。
coding总共用了20多分钟吧，中间他给我挑错，我再改。。。
写完了，他说他没问题了，我说这就没了？不是一个小时吗，他说正常是40分钟-45分
钟，留些时间给你问问题。我就问了几个，不知道是不是 |

之前几个都是列头,问些七七八八无关痛痒的问题. 这是个research institute,我申的
是个research associate的职位,和我的background算是相当match. 本来这个面试计划
是上周的,后来hr说她看错了时间,又调到了大周一早上,让我的心情又小起伏了一下.她
说面试时间不会太短,这里要批评自己,对这点准备不够, 以为就是个phone interview,
最多也就问2,3个project的问题,我对自己的project还是非常熟悉的,所以不怎么担心.
周日轻轻松松的准备了一点background的信息,然后思考了1个小时关于自己简历的问
题,就准备上阵拉.后来突然想起interview的一些技巧问题,赶紧上本版求助,幸得贵人
发我interview101,我看了前30页,还没来得及准备那101道题, 也没有具体的模拟一下.
这个是失误啊,现在想想,如果我昨天准备再充分一点的话,今天表 |

good signs:
1. The interviewer acts interested (sits up straight), polite, listens
carefully, asks good questions and the discussion goes smoothly.
2. The job interview lasts more than the scheduled time. Say – more than 30
minutes.
3. You are introduced to the other team members.
4. The interviewer spends time answering your questions. He or she tells you
many details about the job duties, responsibilities, company culture,
workplace environment etc. – he “sells” |

ask in some stage), but I am going to mention the offer to her when replying
her interview scheduling email to ask if the interview process can be
expedited because I have a pending offer.
I will just try to spend several days to have the offer negotiation.I am
thinking if it is OK to tell them I am still interviewing other companies...

are good enough. You dont have offer yet, only b/c ur not lucky enough or a
lit bit weak at interview skills. But since u are getting more and more
interview experience, u will certainly get a great offer sooner or later!

is logic and problem solving based test. The position requires Java, C++ and
basic testing skills.
I have read Thinking in C++, career cup 150Q. I plan to review basic
algorithms in my lecture notes, and review those I have read before.

我的教训是用的是chrome，单击online conference link，输入name之后，一直显示
processing，开始以为链接需要时间，所以就一直等。实际是需要installation，在页
面顶部有个
提示，当时我没注意到，:(。后来我换到IE才连上。
当遇到这种问题时，面试的人是不会给你时间解决以后进行interview的，这样你就要
一边解决你的
online connection，一般回答interview的问题，更糟的情况是，电话效果很不好，听
不清。这
样的话，肯定会影响interview的。

got called after a week, just finish the two-day interview.
Some interview questions:
why bloomberg?why coding?
What is a constructor?
write a code for quick sort algorithm
write a code to count number of zeros in n!
apple, orange mislabeled problem
5 pirates divide 100 coins problem
...
The problems are not very difficult, probably because I am not cs major. But
you have to keep a clear mind.

I did better in the second phone interview than the first one.
As it is a senior level position, just one question in second interview:
design a twitter server (service).
Talk about all kind of things from simple to complicated distribute cache.
I did it just for fun, but seems like an onsite is quite possible. Maybe I
should really start to prepare for it.
They talk specifically that the hiring bar is very high in amazon.

自己最enjoy什么，为什么想去facebook。我感觉这个人有一点和其他intervieer很不一样的是不想我说太多
，这些问题其他公司interview的时候也问过。每次我都说得比较详细具体，而其他公
司的人也比较希望我解释的具体一点，但这个人打断我两三次，前一个问题我还没说完
就问我一个问题。
接着就是去collabedit上写code，给一个rotated sorted array和一个integer，判断
这个integer是否在这个array里面。写得过程比较没有什么interaction，叫我写完以
后叫他，我觉得比较尴尬。
我的做法是binary 找出minimun element index,再binary search。
写完的时候，整个interview刚过43分钟，我以为是一个小时的interview他会问下一题
，结果他就直接问我又没有什么问题。我有点傻眼了，从来没有phone screen只答一道

Really frustrated with interview!!
Got more than 15 telephone interviews and more than 7 onsite. None of
them is successful. For some hiring agency, they are looking for the best (
this is the trend in our profession). For some, they hired Americans (they
exhausted every possible sources to do this).
I did make one technical mistake at one big company and did make clumsy
or wrong answers to some behavioral questions at another.

员，第三轮lunch interview跟一个在北加（我local）work from home的组员。对方是
个年轻的鬼妹，约好在附近一个意大利餐馆（不是在公司）吃pasta。
银行职位，去公司onsite肯定是要suit。但是这个lunch interview还用穿suit吗？本
人血热，平时外面50多度都穿短袖上街，所以很怕穿suit，特别是吃饭时候。。。

interview，面试官是一个组员，不是hiring manager。
本人比较土没去吃过，大家觉得面试的话点什么比较好？让人看起来还算有品位，吃起
来又比较简单，不影响回答问题，不容易吃的很难看。
Suppose各付各的还是我请面试官（至少意思意思）？？
不穿西服，就穿个衬衫不打领带行吗？打领带还得一边吃东西一边回答问题太痛苦了。

得不太好。今天收到recruiter邮件说based on the feedbacks, we would like to
conduct an additional technical phone interview. 请问有人遇到过这种情况吗，
是不是表示两个interviewer的反馈太两极分化所以决定再多面一轮。
可以发信问recruiter具体原因以及是哪一面表现得不好吗？

I had 3 interviews with them and many of my friends had 3 interviews with
Google as well. This is normal. Just do your best. Let me know if you pass

phone interview时，hire manager 还一直让我relax，感觉气氛很融洽，hm还笑过好
几回，但是最后问个什么缩写，我一点也不知道，hm还说没有关系啥的。当时觉得这个
hm真是nice,现在想想可能那时候hm已经否定了我，所以我不知道没啥关系。面了1个半
小时，感觉可能是从什么地方出错了。请问怎么才能在面试中知道hm对自己是真的感兴
趣，还只是professional的nice?

interview，一对六。我以前试验过我家的电话，听对方还行，但是对方听我稍微有点
变声。我检验了不同方案，发现用google chat语音效果很好，主要是我的webcam的麦
克不错。我用google chat打进去的，电脑喇叭开着，把webcam放到跟前，不用手持电
话之类的，只关注对话就可以了。一个小时的interview，这样不会太累。我觉得效果
很好，因为电脑的喇叭比较好，对方的问题听的也清楚。我建议你把你简历上你做的每
一件具体事例都用口语式的语言详细写一遍，主要是理思路。pho: ne interview的时
候，思路清楚了，也没必要拿着读。
过我不是在校生啦，工作很多年了。 |

题，也没有准备，结果hiring
manager问了我一些基本的东西，会不会这个，那个。。。我回答说这些太简单，我做
的是更高level的。然后就没有回音

第二次2009年， 无聊时去GOOGLE一看，这个位置还在。结果第二天Google recruiter
发email说我是不是对这个位置还
感兴趣, 几天后Recruiter回信说他和hiring manager讨论过，认为我不fit这个
position. 我也回信说我不是你们要找的人。
这次我又无聊得去看了一下，这个位置依然还在。第二天Google recruiter又发email
问我是不是还感兴趣。我说我以前好
像已经被你们认为不fit这个位置了。他说这次不一样了，你已经跳到了Google的竞争
对手那里，对Google就变得more
valuable了。然后我说我不做那些level比较低的活，他说不要紧，先谈谈再说，于是
就约了下周的phone interview。
