其实LAH亚洲人不少，日本，台湾，中国人都占一定比例，这些人都赶上了硅谷的第一
次爆发，比我们的父母年纪稍微小一点的。在LAH生活有一点不方便，就是你每次下山
之前，要写好一个清单，把山脚下今天要干的事都干完了，你再上山。
LAH的夜间没有路灯，这是LAH本地的居民保护法，而LAH在当初建构的时候，修成了环
状，有inner loop和outer loop, 这个设计特点和stanford校园极其相似，具有强大的
保护功能，非本地人晚上开车去LAH，在伸手都看不到十指的夜幕下，基本没有走对的
可能性。10个高材生里，有清华，有北大，有科大的，就没有一个是靠自己的方向感开
上去的，各个把自己开丢了。所以这个地区的居民，很多家，车都不上锁的，车窗也不
关的。你要真能爬上来，你也得有那个体力，那个智慧。
除此之外，还有一个特点，就是手机进了一个半山腰的区域以后，就没有信号了。
曾经遇见过一个国内经济案件的通缉犯，这是我个人看出来的，这个男的住的那间屋子
，没有任何交通工具，步行都是很大障碍，在山顶的一个比较抖的house里，但owner自

老大, 要subjective也要数据支撑的啊. 你把 LAH 列到和 Los Gatos/Saratoga, 实在
是太小看LAH了, 你不知道LAH is where the new money goes? LAH 和Atherton 绝对
是一个等级的呀. 你还别说, Atherton的平均房价远远低与LAH, 为什么? 因为
Atherton的烂区一堆墨墨兄.
但是我也知道, SF版上讨论的Atherton是哪块, 是吧?
再说说portola valley, 我其实也不很了解. 但是有一天我带着宝宝到Los Altos 一个
historical house / museum 玩, 碰到一白老太, 和她聊天. 白老太住LAH, 很有点家
产的.她提到说, 我家儿子没钱, 买不起Los Altos (还不是hill) 的房子, 只好在
portola valley里面住着. 我当场不要太晕哦...
还有, PA/LA 比Los Gatos低? 这个我太不同意了.... Los Gatos 我是不那么了解,但
是就靠他的那个位置,再加上那个价格, 都上不了 PA/LA 的线啊. |

发帖数: 13072 | 13 LAH全称是los altos hills，是在los altos这个城市里面的一个山区，每家都占一个
小山头。
los altos往北和PA有交界，往南又和mountain view有交界处， 所以学区的划分极为
复杂。
一般说来，能和PA分到一起的是LAH的居民， 而los altos往南的则和MV的学区划到了
一起，这两个城市的学区都合在一起写的。有些MV的地区和LA往南的地区的孩子们共享
同一个LA学区的小学，初中和高中。
所以说，这一环境背景，导致了在PA西边上学的孩子基本上只有两种家庭：非富即贵，
PA属于老贵（原著居民在80年前就住那了），LAH属于新贵（很多居民是最近30年随着
硅谷软工业的发展，公司上市了，暴发户，才买了山头房），确切的说，LAH居民不是
买的类似PA那种二手房，大多是先买下一块山顶的空地，而后盖起的新房。所以LAH的
房子基本都很新，而PA房子因为超过了半个世纪的房龄，而当时早期的室内设计比如卫
生间和closet的格局，还有防震的设施，都远远落伍于后来的时尚需求，则被码工们广

发帖数: 1 | 14 楼上的不要把LAH和LASD搞混了。高中的话，LA和MTV各有几乎一半的地区属于LAH和
MTVH。前几年LAH稍微好一点，然而这几年分数已经被MTVH反超了，我听说有邻居小孩
从LAH想要转学到MTVH。主要原因可能是MTV北部有一部分high density差区被划在LAH
，所以生源更杂一些，MTVH相比更加平均。当然这只是现在的情况，十年以后的情况谁
也说不好。
小学初中的话，LASD学区每一所都很好，在公立里都算一流的了吧。而且LA的居民还有
优先权上bullis charter。 |

的不是那个affordability的percentage，而是能afford的人口数和房子总数的比例。
这里看百分比是没有多大意义的。只要还有人能买得起还愿意买，即使affordability

恩, 说的及是. 所以我前面会说"差不多", 因为每个城市都有自己的特点. 即使是
Atherton, 也有好有巨好有差 :) PA 上下差距就更不用说了. Atherton 那些地方不说
也罢, 说也白说, 纸上谈兵. Portola valley的缺点和LAH一样, 出来还是不方便, 上
山下乡的. LAH 我有认识的硅工朋友住在上面, 买的是2M 的房子, 然后丢进去300K 做
了remodel, 没有到380K贫困线, 不过有积蓄 :) 所以说380k的硅公上LAH也不是梦... |

Tier2: 这个tier的几所高中也很不错，而且上升势头很明显，Mountain View的两所高
中 (LAH, MTVH)在10年后应该会升上tier1, 就看哪所先把大部分穷人赶走，其中LAH有

moaning maytle, rueful and tearful.
no much progress on plot. and more loose ends were left in the end.
the interesting thing is chars were growing up.
ginny was cool, more assertive and forward.
ron was still childish and clownish.
luna was cute.
eventually there'll be three young couples, imo:
ron & hermoine; harry & ginny; neville & luna.

shallow, while all Weaslies had strong vivid personality. Cho sobed at every
chance, seeing harry, remembering cedric, losing quiditch. Emotionality was

a few months and she started to give eyes to Harry. That was a surprise. And

much less complicated than book 3 or 4. And think of it, there is actually NOT
much happened in this book.
Cho now is portarited as a totally shallow girl, I don't expect to see her
much in the future books (if there is any). I totally agree with Or with the
mirror issue, anyone with a head will use the mirror instead doing anything
else.

should have been tightened up. biggest disappointment is the title - "order
of the phoenix". after through 870 pages we only came to know this was a
sceret organization of wizards; that's it, its function, history, etc etc all

这个价。我一个朋友就是做设计师的，他们公司在LAH造的好几个房子我都看过报价，
我自己询问的其他Builder基本也这个价，请名设计师还要贵。
不过我看了你下面的解释基本也能理解，先不谈地区的价格差异了，材料差异大了去了
。这边要是真500W以上自住的豪宅，你说说哪有不用Italian marble的？其中一个开价
$788w，6000多尺的豪宅我朋友带我去进去过一次，光一楼那个超大落地窗那块巨大无
比的玻璃就要10万一块(yes, you hear me, $100K for that one piece glass)，我当
时以为我听错了，结果一看真的是进口来的！第一块破了后来造了第二块才装上。
如果你要是说是Builder自己买地盖然后卖出去赚钱，那成本可以自由控制，你说$250
我都信，But you get what you paid for.

发帖数: 5723 | 47 我说的就是造价，不包括地。这里大部分builder对类似豪宅的报价就是$400/尺起，和
地价没任何关系。我今早特意还打电话问了我熟识的Agent，他们公司一直合作的
builder在LAH最近1-2年盖的5000尺以上的房子，基本都这个价或以上。少数几个老中
builder盖的也有$300出头的，但是最终成交价始终不如成本高的那几个。
豪宅不是光大就叫豪宅的，LAH也有10000尺开价不到$600w的房子，但是那个品质还不
如你说的custom home.

letter from company 2 instead yah.
selfpaid parking 1-200per mont after tax( almost equal to 4k pre tax income
leh bah + extra deh gasoline cost ) so in ur case if company 1 is willing 2
match company 2 deh offer, that will be ideal lah.
even if co 1 is not willing to, i still think 1 is better than 2 lah. |
