Nothing Has Changed by Colin Thubron
Colin Thubron started his career in documentary film and in TV. He made
his reputation, though, as a travel writer, especially in the Middle East.
He has more recently turned to novels. There is a journey in this story; it
is an exploration of the writer's own feelings when faced with both his loss
and someone else's. Whether the woman in the story really existed or not
does not matter; the situation is a very human one.

Life is vastly overrated. After all, you are just a coincidence. If you
have many siblings, it is obvious to you that not only your existence
depends on those two specific parents to come together, but it only depends
on the particular time when they did. A year later it would not have been
you but a sibling of yours. I suspect that even a second later would have
made a difference and you would not exist. You exist because those two

Please dont take my post as a criticism of your pictures. The last one is
IMHO pretty nice.
To me, photography should be "expressive".
If we get too wound up in using certain techniques to produce technically
competent images,
the photographs could lose expressiveness.
The results tend to be postcard-good-looking, but stale and lifeless.

reflection turns my world to stone.”
