do it after grouting.
Depend on your grout size, if it is large enough to call for a sanded grout
and have polished marble, I would definitly seal it before you grout, it can
help prevent the grout from sticking to the marble and not scratch the

marble surface is honed finish, you can seal it after grouting is done (but

次，quartz不需要了，价格上，marble和granite似乎差不多，quartz要贵一些，但是
似乎不太好看？
早前去另外一个local店看的marble和granite，比HD的贵，店家没有提需要seal的事
请问是所有的marble/granite都需要seal吗？还是说贵一些的就不用了？
另外marble都是天然的，granite都是人工的？

我们家是买的新房。builder标配的厨房cabinet是木色的，因为我们家决定走坚定的
contemporary路线，于是给upgrade成很深的espresso色，虽然还是有木头的纹路但乍
一看就是黑的。我原本打算黑的橱柜配白色的marble countertop，看到很多杂志上都
有，很好看。结果我们的design consultant说厨房不能用marble因为marble太软不脆
弱，即使最终能卖给你，也没有warranty. 她也承认现在很多杂志上有这种搭配但是
有规定，不让卖。我们于是只好选了乳白但带有黑色纹路的granite，关键是granite的
花纹比marble的细条纹大超多，还不知道最终效果会如何.
好，汇报完cabinet and countertop的颜色，来请教一下地板颜色的搭配。目前打算一
楼都铺木地板，包括厨房。我个人比较喜欢深一点的木头颜色，至少natural walnut或
者更深。但是现在担心这样厨房显得暗，有一种木地板色差很大有深有浅是不是会活泼
一点呢，又怕太花，否则就考虑要不要厨房铺tile了。。。高人指点 |

他看。他说应该是marble。原因有二
1）pattern 比较random
2）gap很小，如果地板上，瓷砖缝一般较大，marble一般比较近，甚至kiss。
整个foyer，碎了几块，这个东西很娇贵。准备用奥九的方法再确认一下。如果真是，
准备seal一下。 |

believe there is more choices for actual marble. for 45'' and 53'' vanity
tops, its not that heavy, you just need one more person to lift it up a few
times to install it. I have done a 48" counter-top.
Ask the granite retailer to cut it to your spec and grind it for you, which
should not cost much. Then you can just install it.

Only large piece of polished marble with water on top of it will be slipery.
If that is your concern, use honed mosaic pieces in the middle of the room,
even when wet, you will not slip, because of all the grout lines. |

choose big porcelain tiles for shower stall and tub wall surroundings.
For the decorative trim, if installed a little below the shower head (so not
in the spray line), would it almost maintenance free if they are marble (or
travertine)? Handheld shower head will be installed, so I cannot guarantee
that the decorative area is always dry, because my daughter sometimes takes
off the showerhead.

但那不是什么大问题. 用轨迹球其实比用鼠标更舒服更不容易产生鼠标手. 可惜的是很
多人并不适应轨迹球的操作.
其实logitech人体工程学做得最好的轨迹球停产了,就是trackman marble fx, 右手是
彻底垂直的而且球大操控精准, 是我最喜欢的两款轨迹球之一, 另外一款是正在用的微
软trackball explorer, 也已停产多年. 个人认为是最完美的轨迹球结合滚轮和人体工
程学的设计 |
