H1B的第二个三年用了一年多，明年10月到期，大概剩下一年又两个月左右。140早批了
，485当时错过了大潮，还没有递上去，PD是07年六月底。
按理说再等两三个月就可以递485，之后再过半年就是自由人了。偏偏在这时候拿到了
dream company的offer，但新公司未必肯立刻开始办绿卡，因此很困惑：
1.如果新公司要半年左右才开始办绿卡的话，貌似时间很紧，说不定H1B到期了140还没
有下来，这时候身份会黑了吗？
2.就算新公司肯立刻办绿卡，但是如果现在公司在我走人以后马上cancel了当前的140
， 那么PD就没有了，在新公司还得重新拿PD，重新等，之前等的4年就这样白白浪费了
。所以请问大家有什么好的strategy保住当前的140不被cancel吗？
最好情况是新公司马上办绿卡，一年内140下来以后，把原来的PD给接过去，但前提是

一样。。。或者说，基本不会一样。
我觉得不是所有人的，都把数学看成完全铁板钉钉的逻辑。。。打个比方，也许
有人觉得 jigsaw puzzle 是非常 logical/analytical。。。但是我觉得
jigsaw puzzle 的第一步，“selection/pruning by guess”，我觉得其实是
非常 intuitive 的。。。或者另一个角度说，你很难用逻辑来说明为啥你先
try this piece first，not that piece，很多时候你仅仅就是 feel this
simply is the right choice from your guts。。。逻辑则是那一步以后的事
。。。
我觉得娃版 foundation of mathematics 的概念啥的，也是非常 intuitive
的。。。只不过大妈们不这么看而已。。。就比如为啥俺在娃面前写了那个错误的

citation的evidence。即使是contribution，如果你仔细看rfe template里面的要求，
citation也只是可以提供的证据之一，不是required。提供citation作为contribution
的证据，是因为这个证据最容易。
我在下面把uscis对authorship和contribution里面2项的要求都贴了出来，排版比较烂，大家将就看。。。

把十条都列了，contribution，authorship，review这三条单独都met了，但是review
是“met the plain language of this criterion",可是最后总结的时候又说"the
beneficiary has not met at least three of the ten criteria."这是为什么呢，难
道是因为我的review这一项还不够强？但是contribution和authorship都写了是met
this criterion.
BTW,我交材料的时候review了8个杂志15篇，现在又多了两篇，等回复RFE的时候增加到
20篇不知道是不是够了。而且，我当时没有editor的证明信，只有审稿的email，是不
是要几封editor的证明信会有帮助？
最后还是指明了要证明sustained international acclaim和small percentage，也就

文章：11篇。5 1st author；5 篇领域内最好杂志（IF~10）；一篇为中文杂志。 引用
190+ (ISI), 250+ (Google Scholar).
审稿：24，（IF 从25到1不等，9个杂志）
推荐信：5封独立加1封PhD导师（美国、英国、意大利、加拿大和台湾）。
1封主编审稿证明信
1封公司合作者支持信
参考版上的经验，深挖了自己的贡献。做了油灯图，根据关键词索引了自己的文章，列
出了Small Percentage，也总结了引用并应用自己文章的文献。
感觉所有证据都已经用上了，手头上当时多准备了三封独立推荐信预防RFE（以色列、
爱尔兰、美国；美国那封来自工作界；2封编辑证明信）。

Mechanical Engineering, Phd
11 Papers, 提交时87 citations in total(没有区分自他引)，
6 RL(5 independent,只有2篇来自引用的人)
现在citation涨了点，一共正好100,不过几乎全是中国人引用的。

3月27号就被RFE了，无奈总是收不到RFE,Submit了2个service request都么有等到，终
于在congressman的帮助下今天搞到RFE了，一共耗时45天，估计人品都集中放在h1b抽
签去了，anyway，今天终于收到了，貌似承认了review, authorship,质疑了
contribution。

因素。此人被和谐几率超高。

百科有很长篇的介绍，我去过超过十次至今，而且还要去，美不胜收。
了解Metropolitan Museum of Art，简称the Met，必须知道它的历史。简约的说，
1870年开始筹建，1872年正式开放，今年2月20日恰好是首开的140周年。博物馆
后来经过多次扩建，兴城目前的规模。1963年，蒙娜丽莎首次在the met展出。
博物馆的主馆外观大方优雅，设计师是Calvert Vaux; Jacob Wrey Mould。
这里收藏一副美国历史上很重要的一个场景的油画，就是德国人Emanuel Leutze所
画的Washington Crossing the Delaware。
注意他的裆部，是一个小铃铛，挂钥匙用的？
还有日本的海浪图，日本画家神葛饰北斋的著名木版画《奈川冲浪里》。
也有很多中国的文化和字画。明代园林建筑，仿网师园的园林建筑。

在大都会艺术博物馆(Metropolitan Museum of Art，以下简称Met)表示自己将考
虑每周7天全部开馆的两个星期后，纽约MoMA（现代艺术博物馆）也在近日宣布其将从
明年5月起每周7天全部开馆。目前MoMA在每个星期二都会闭馆休息。
MoMA馆长Glenn D. Lowry表示之所以做出这个决定主要还是因为参观人数的大幅度
上涨。自MoMA在2004年进行扩张、翻修之后重新开馆的8年以来，观众从约150万人次增
加到了约300万人次，几乎翻了一倍。“观众几乎要突破我们展馆的最大容量了，”
Glenn D. Lowry表示。
MoMA从1929年创立时起一直是每周7天都开馆的，直到1975年才改为每周闭馆一天
以减少运营成本。美国的国家级博物馆——包括华盛顿的国家美术馆在内——都是每天
都开放的；而包括泰特现代美术馆、泰特英国美术馆以及华莱士收藏馆等在内的伦敦主

这两天新闻报道里提到IBM或出售其半导体业务，不知道大家有谁注意到了这些报道里
提到的潜在买家中，有一家叫global foundries最有可能中标。大家如果开车路过237
和great america parkway，会注意到那里在建一片新的玻璃幕墙的大楼，差不多快建
好了。其中有一座上面巨大的logo，就是global foundries。他们原来的办公楼在237
