Carlos is a safe / nice / old town, to Bay Area standard. It has flat lands,
but more houses are on small hills. Not a big issue, just that you have to
drive down for 10 minutes to buy things.
It is an old town, but not really an elegant old town like some small cities
in the Boston area, like Newton. More like an old and forgotten town, not
