今年的新片《Elvis&Nixon》（猫王与尼克松）以荒诞戏谑的手法叙述了这样一段并非
完全虚构的历史。片中的猫王像个行侠仗义的西部牛仔，路见不平拍案而起，要为美国
出力。而且他还是个如假包换的武林高手：空手道功夫一流，爱枪如命。意志坚定的猫
王一路闯到白宫，见了尼克松。更让人想不到的是，他用短短几分钟的会面就扭转了尼
克松对自己的偏见，让
尼克松将之引为知己，相见恨晚。
情节真是天马行空。不过片子之所以吸引人，就在于它的天马行空，不是吗？反正我就
是被片名吸引到的。两个这么违和这么不搭、又同样充满传奇色彩、同为美国象征的人
凑到一起会是什么情景呢？想想就令人充满好奇。而且有好奇心的明显不止我一个：国
家档案馆的在线展览上要求观看最多的，就是那张摄于1970年12月的猫王与尼克松合影。

可是打完第二次封闭无效后约看emory的手术医生，他们要我等上差不多一个月才能见
的上手术医生，那个时候我都快疼苦死了，好在这个时候我的同事给我介绍了在
gainesville 的Dr.Bruce Nixon(他给我同事的女儿做了和我一样的腰椎间盘突出手术
）。Dr. Nixon人非常的nice，而且我觉得比emory给我看的专科医生好多了，他会教我
看我的MRI结果，emory的那位我觉得几乎啥都没做，就把我MRI的结果说了一遍而已，
而Dr. Nixon会和我说我突出有多少对着MRI图片指出位置在哪里等等。当我和Dr.
Nixon说我很希望尽早做手术，他会尽他所能尽早做给我安排手术。我真庆幸我同事给
我介绍了Dr. Nixon。我的手术做了差不多两个小时,由于我突出的严重，所以手术后在

文章后有些失望。是不是有点象台湾地方势力
围包工程？ 怪不得前几天看美国大选，评论员
说一般认为美国最腐败的州不是Florida, 而是
Illinois. 我看多了报纸还是有点感觉，
Illinois 州长的手下设嫌受贿，给不具备卡车
司机资格的人发驾照，造成重大事故。芝加哥的
市长手下的财政局长，在工作时间利用市府的
人员为她自己的竞选辅选，结果被揭发判刑。
美国民主相对完善在于，总会有乱作事情的人，
但有个相对公正的司法来约束。
现任芝加哥市长他爸，是原来的芝加哥市长，
当了十几二十年的市长。Kennedy 和 Nixon 竞选
总统的时候，很多人指责老市长做假，死人投票，
活人多次投票，使得民主党Kenndy赢了Illinois，
从而险胜Nixon. 当时一个是冷战正紧张，另外
Nixon也没有把握找到确凿的证据，于是承认了失

很受欢迎，工作努力，来自密西根州的共和党众议员Gerald Ford被Nixon总统选定成
为替换辞职的副总统Spiro Agnew的人选，所以当Nixon本人也辞职的时候，福特发现
自己将是新的总统了，这也是唯一的没有参加总统/副总统的选举而成为总统的人。
