发帖数: 1 | 2 大家好，请教下大家关于找faculty的几个问题。
小弟的大方向在agriculture，pathogen detection，6月份刚拿到博士学位，现在和老
板一起到了一个藤校做postdoc，博士期间一作文章大概10篇（其中7篇online，其他的
都under review），但是没啥teaching的经验，grant也写过一点点（基本是参与，自
己没有投），励志以后在美帝找到faculty postiion。最近，看到网上很多post招
faculty的广告（大概有个5-6个），方向都是非常符合的，因此在想要不要开始准备，
今年试试，其实自己内心觉得自己还没有ready，也不是很confident。
小弟有一个核心问题：今年需不需要试试。
今年投一下这个ope，主要是怕今年招满了，等我准备好的时候没有open了。但是其实
自己不是很自信，怕今年投了，人家觉得不行，明年人家还继续招，觉得有不太好的
record，会印象明年。
大家有啥看法，需要大家的知道。 |

Schwab, Think or Swim, Wells Fargo等等。 |

巧的是在一个礼拜前接受了另外一个大公司的intern offer。
于是我告诉那个公司我刚刚签了实习的offer，要等4个月才能上班。然后那个公司说等
不了就没消息了。
然后我在另外的那个公司实习，干的非常出色，在4个月实习期间给公司做出来个专利
。满以为他们会给我转成正式。结果被告知没有正式的opening，一年后才有。于是我
是俩头都没得到。
有点讽刺的是2005年秋天我intern结束离开的时候经理说你干的非常好，是我见过的最
好的intern。实在是没opeing，以后我们有了你随时回来都欢迎。
去年我失业的时候，又去问我实习的那个组，他们似乎已经忘记了我以前的表现。居然
没要我。
所以对公司讲诚信对我们来说 并不一定有好的回报。

2. 单字 -> map[1](key, "")
3. 从 i = 2 开始循环，找长度为 i, 减去一个字母后在map[i-1]的keySet里的单词，
放进map[i](key, shrinked)
4. 重复3，直到map[i]为空。
从map[i-1]任挑一个就是最长的可变化的词。英语里好象就一个解: carrousel.

，包括release credit card信息。发过去以后却告诉我那个rate涨上去了，等降下来再
给我lock，结果这几天rate一直涨。而且今天居然收到一封Escrow的信，说Escrow ope

发帖数: 1563 | 43 一看你的发言就绝不是b-school出来的，可能也不是faculty这个圈子的。B-School的
三大专业：会计，金融，市场，毕业的PHD， 几乎没有想找而找不到faculty工作的（
不排除个别非常差的），最差就是去teaching university,像你给的9万年薪（9个月
pay）比较靠谱。当然不是个个去tier 1,但是还是那句话，用能不能去tier1来判断能
不能在美国混下去，这里也没几个人能在美国混下去了。每年每个专业FACULTY
OPENING 差不多10几个也是胡扯，往年是上百个（不论学校好坏，算总数），截止去年
8月份是不到100个（由于金融危机的影响），但是从去年8月份起，不断有新的
openning 出来，足以吸收暂时没有找到工作的毕业生。别的专业不好说，B-SCHOOL的
名校毕业生不可能找不到工作，当然你说好工作不一定，但是就算一般的工作10万年薪
也是能保证的。但是名校的学生不愁嫁这是绝对的规律。
当然理工科的学生名校的光环多有用，我就不清楚了。我不讨论我不了解的话题。
呵.每个专业可能加起来才100-200，但是每年每个专业FACULTY OPE |

help. You also need to know that you will need to pay the patent office even
if you do not use a lawyer. Probably 2-5 K overall. You can see the fee
