前一阵子公司有golf outing，scramble format，一组有一个florida来的哥们，大学
draft为学校棒球队的pitcher，但后来没有打球。他跟我说3年前开始打golf，自学了6
个月，后来找pga，两年成为scratch player，一直在打amateur tour，第三年因为工
作，搬到加州，好久没打球，handicap升到3.2。之后就是在打球过程中，各种远，
draw，准，让我好不羡慕。
回来后，我就自问，我要多少年能成为scratch player，or is it even possible？突
然明白，不是多少年，而是多少swing。langer在禁用anchored putter的时候说，10,
000 swing才能熟悉一根杆子，简单的说，包里14根杆子，至少140,000才能入门。每天
100次击球，要1400天，4年也许才能摸到入门，也许能成为一个single handicapper，
写到这里，又手痒了。
当然，上面那位大牛，身体素质超越常人，热情也超越常人，经常一周末打5轮，所以

我们这的中国人也有个类似的组织，也是10-20差点的占多数，单差的这两年越来越多
，估计现在有十来个了。大家定期举办个比赛和冬天到南方的golf outing之类的活动
。很多成员也是当地私人俱乐部的会员，所以大家也经常轮流着去对方的俱乐部打球。
不过大多数在邻州，离我们这里还有段距离，所以我也希望我们附近也能有更多的单差
左右的球手，这样我们就可以进行队际对抗了。 |

是允许左膝多一些break以加强转体。结果击球质量大大提高。昨天参加以前公司的
golf outing，打出很多又实又准的好球，不过这些150-180yard外的球很多都停不住，
滚下green。 |

got to Knoxville. He did set a school record in completion % last season,
but that came after a dismal 45% outing in his sophomore year. I’m sure his
senior season will be his best yet, but he will be remembered as an under-
achiever when he leaves school, unless they surprise everybody and make a NC
run. They have a solid LB group, but lost 3 starters in the secondary.

发帖数: 45 | 26 昨天去了趟Franconia Ridge，虽然天气极差，hiking的感觉还是不错的。今天特意花
了两个小时整理贴上来，证明东部户外还是有人的。。。
franconia ridge是white moutains一部分，trail大约9迈，上升3900尺，ridge那一段
把许多山头串起来，东部无高山，这一段最高也就是mount lafayette， 5260 尺，不
过trial三分之一是在tree line以上，理想天气下可以看到white mountains全貌，可
惜昨天能见度也就十几米，雾茫茫一片，这里还有美东第三大的高山冻原带，非产珍贵
本人户外经验不足无车缺装备，也没去过雪地，跟着学校的outing club一起走，
boston出发车程两个半小时，到了那边的时候正下着雨，昨天晚上似乎还下了雪，幸好
风不是特别大，trail上都是积雪，很多地方还结了冰相当滑，带了冰爪备用
没走多远一位同志的眼镜就掉下坡了，一个二三十米的陡坡，出发的时候我就注意到此
君的一个眼镜架是用胶带缠在镜框上的，没想到还真能出状况，然后我就问了一个回想
起来极其傻冒的问题，我问他掉的时候有没有看见落到 |

RRG每次一到长周末，到处都是学校的outing club的大队伍。RRG的beginner area就那
么几个，每次都一大堆本科生在那里排队爬，一整天也爬不了几条线。我不会leading
的时候跟别人出去，一整天就挂了两条线，十几个人排队爬，我一天只爬了半条-_____

等你gym爬上一段，会sports leading了，就不用排队爬别人的top rope了，攀爬会有
效率得多。没必要现在去赶集。我学完leading以后第一次跟别人出去，第一天就爬了9
条。质的区别啊。 |

time to go climbing on real rock since beginning of this year. After two or
three outings per month, finally get very comfortable on real rock. Before
that rock is harsh and cold compared to the plastics in the gym, now I
really feel bounding with the rocks.
When I read Linn Hill's book, she mentioned that those free soloers have a

What you can do is try to minimize the risk, either attend a class, or get
experience from outings...
In this case, people should not glissade in this snow condition and terran,
then you will not encounter this dangerous in the first place. |

week. I liked the north 40 and the goat cave areas the best. The rating is
slightly soft though there are lots of really hard stuffs. It is prefect for
cold weather outings.
Festivals are just not fun. Congested climbing areas are no good. |

CYPN去年组织过两次同在缅因州的Kennebec River的四级漂流，两次去了70多人，都没
有这次Wu Yong童鞋谈判下来的日期放水量那么大。Dead river每年只会有几次big
water releases，5000-6500cfs, 而今年唯一的7000 cfs 超大水量就在我们选的5月12
日 （5月6日的7000cfs被cancel了）

的确真的很轻，跟我以前比赛发的33升的Mountain Hardware的包差不多重，
我的是小号的，不到3磅，比我想象的要小，腰和肩膀都fit的很好...
再就是容量的确很大，小号的有62升，感觉能放个小孩进去....结构比较简单，
主要就是一个大口袋，里面有个可以放hydration pack的小口袋，外层一个口袋，
再一个拉链口袋，顶上有两层口袋，that's it. 背后有一个塑料的板，保持包
不会变形...
总体感觉还比较满意...

randomly hooking up a few people in the parking lot to go with.
I know the very top is quite steep, that's why I posted someone else's
pictures so that whoever wants to join has an idea of the terrain and must

发帖数: 4072 | 46 这个近似专业的训练真苦啊！特别是那个多球，两点，推侧，推侧扑，全台正手3点，
然后正反手打摆速，等等等等。像俺汗流的多的，每2小时喝掉2升的水（4瓶），还不
要上厕所的，那多少汗啊！穿上衣就等于把衣服放水里然后拿起了穿上。每次内裤和短
裤也是湿透。课间时就回房间吧内外裤都换了。好在每个房间一台洗衣机，每天N套衣
服。话说经过4-5天磨练，已经不觉得腰酸背痛了，就是出汗还是多。几个女队教练都
说俺练得最辛苦，休息时都会对俺点拨一二，特别是有个比俺小一岁的教练MM，可热心
了。下次推荐给飞猪一流等人吧，据说他们最想和美女教练学球，是么？
俺现在的作息是（和小童子功的训练时间略有区别，教练让俺自己定节奏）：
8点起床，洗簌10分钟，吃饭20分钟。8：45开练，11：15结束上午训练。12点吃完午饭。
下午2：30才开始，中间这2个半小时就先写俺的《正定探营》，再躺一小时（没午睡习
惯，通常都睡不着）。
2：30-5：15练球，6点吃完晚饭。歇会儿，晚上7-9再去和小童子功们混混，练练发球。
9pm到2am和美国打打电话，讨论下project，改改同学们的papers。然后2am-8am睡觉。... 阅读全帖 |

I feel just as comfortable in a short stride, slow pace ultra mode, as in a
tempo mode. My feet only push backward, and I feel that no energy is being
wasted. I enjoyed being sneaky when I passed other runners on the road -- I
couldn't hear the sound of my own strides, and they probably didn't know I
was there until I passed them. Have yet to see how my marathon pace runs go
with my newly improved running form. |

about going up one more time for the last day of Kirkwood, but couldn't
since I had to take my kid to Chinese school.
Also, my golf buddies almost kick me out of their circles since I missed so
many of their outings. Need to get back to it before they win all the games.
