我的CAREER虽然没有中，但是education部分评价很好，可以说一点经验。我是找了一
个教育学里面的理论(什么situated learning 之类的)，然后围绕这个理论编了一些故
事，说是要根据这个理论，把research融合到education里面云云。因为这理论相对来
说是比较公认有效的，又有点心理学教育学的内容，跟工程的研究相关，还引用了一些
其他学校的案例作为佐证，所以reviewer觉得比较新奇。
可惜俺的research部分只能打30分，活活把俺99分的education糟蹋了。 |

Education，上去可以找到很多案例。或者你找一本认知心理学的书，里面有很多学习
理论，找个名头比较响，跟自己的research结合一下，然后根据博士，本科生，高中生
，少数民族的不同情况，利用这个理论做不同的教育课程或者活动的设计（可以引用一
些学习理论的经单原话），然后看看同行的网站看看他们有什么活动可以作为案例，说
明别人已经收到了不错的效果，但是他们没有在统一的学习理论框架下设计这些教育计
划。
另外outreach的credit也是要积累的。我有个一个很牛的高中生，自己写程序做仿真还
推了些公式，发了一篇国际会议论文（这个真不是我捉刀代笔的），以后我每次都拿他
做案例，reviewer都觉得很不错。可惜就是被我research 的部分给灭掉了，还是拿不
到钱。 |

业的，应该有应用前景才对。extension一般用在描述job上，比如extension agents.
一般农业相关的专业都会有些faculty是主要偏重extension project的。一般在农业生
产中有什么问题，就会把它跟agricultural research联系起来，看如何解决这些问题
。反过来，research的成果也要转化成生产力，要靠他们来推广。 |

与high school或其它教育实体的联系，还有与政府机构的联系这样的活动。

数族裔学生啊，去高中做科普啊，给社会上的人做科学宣传啊。
Extension一般很多agriculture都有extension station，就是直接服务farmer的，宣
传现在的一些新的技术啊，通知一下现在的流行病啊，之类的。

做 Community outreach 就不要怕 turf war, 白眼和冷嘲热讽的可能性. 如果中文学
校不愿意或者没有人手合作,可以找独立教中文的tutor,他们可能比较想宣传自己,所以
也许会比较积极参加社区活动. 你们州有没有孔子学院? 也许孔院可以帮你提供一些资
料.

说的。outreach最好找毛病。不过，不管什么program，outreach还是要讨论的。我见
过牛人不讨论outreach照样拿grant的，但基本是特例－人家的research part太强大，
搞得panel喜欢得不得了，基本忽略这种人的outreach。
