本人在做个course project，题目是实现个类似sTunnel得东西，也就是encode任意一
个指定端口发出去的ip packet，然后再远端decode. 加密准备用ipsec
由于本人对c/c++知识基本为0，所以选择了python
我准备用twisted里的对网卡建立个raw socket，然后察看每一个packet，确定来自指
定端口就重建该packet
想请达人指教是否可行. (我实在不确定packet filtering用python能否做到) |

In GRE/IPsec case, when a packet comes in, router does ip lookup, next hop is GRE tunnel, so router encap's original packet with IP-GRE header, which subsequently triggers IPsec before the packet is placed on wire, the sequence makes perfect sense to me.

一直在用linux好久，时不时碰到个小问题，可从来没有到让人气愤的的地步，毕竟
linux好处多多，一点小问题就算了。可这次太让我忍无可忍，不得不上来骂几句。
话说偶在做一个voip的app，用linux做中转。linux上的code很简单，就是每20ms来个
50字节，从一个socket放到另外一个socket，这对偶做了n年网络工程师的人来说，小
菜一叠吧。可用这个app通话质量很差，偶抓破头皮看client的code，也没啥问题。用
sniffer看，原来每个packet间的间隔时大时小，导致很多packet不能按时到达，就过
期作废了。看sender的pattern，非常整齐。那就是linux的问题，偶就开始time自己的
code，同样的非常整齐，没有任何延迟。那是什么原因让linux不马上把偶的data传出
去，而看似毫无规律的乱传？
通过无数个google，bing，终于发现问题的根源。是linux作者在胡乱implement tcp

接奔着这个职位去的，是比较底层，平时工作也跟linux kernel打点交道，正好这个组
需要有人帮忙写个driver什么的，就面我这个问题了。版上如果是general hire的话，
应该不用担心这样的问题。
udp driver的话，关键点是两点，一是register interrupt line associated with an
interrupt handler，因为MAC在收到packet的时候会产生一个interrupt。packet的处
理在interrupt handler里面。还有一点是linked list，packet的存储一般是用linked
list。
还要注意就是linux kernel space和user space的概念以及locking mechanism。
楼上提到DMA也是对的，network driver都是用DMA的，不然处理起来会太慢。这轮比较

科普一下 -- network connection 的质量有几个因素: Bandwidth, Latency, packet
loss. 无良的 ISP 总是吹多少个 mega Bandwidth， 这个实际上对connection 影响
不大， 除非你天天下电影，Latency 和 packet loss 才真正影响网上游戏的质量。
Wireless 的Latency 和 packet loss 比有线差好多。 |
