The properly insulated wall has R value of 19+. I really don't think
double pane glass helps that much. |

bus noise and car noise wake us up around 6:30am. We thought about the
below choices to reduce the street noise inside the house.
(1) Replace the current double pane window with some sound-prevented pane,
which is expensive and may require replace the whole window instead of pane;
(2) Add one layer of window -- we have not found contractor who is willing

你的推拉门是double pane还是single pane？能装下多厚的单层玻璃？
如果能找local glass company换成1/2 inch 以上的 laminated glass,那么STC也可以

，就在60旁边的小山坡上（南加的朋友知道60非常多车流），直线距离大概100米。刚
走进房间声音吵的耳朵都痛，但是把窗户关上后就基本上听不到了。老房子，很普通的
双层玻璃窗。我就觉得以后买了房子一定要把所有窗都换成的DUAL PANE的。听说

Residential Lease Agreement和Rental Application以外，还收到一份罗列非常详细
的Move-Out Charges。每个细小项目都在后面列了修复的金额，看到这个表有些被吓到
了。请大家看看，这样的Move-Out Charges是属于标准流程里的吗？大家租房的时候都
收到这个吗？另外，怎么确定如下的东西是好的，还是需要被Charge的？当我们搬进去
的时候，是不是要和房东一起检查房间内的各样东西的状况，好有一个对房子维护的基
本的共识？

You could also get cheaper locally made windows for $150-300$ (lowe3, dual

repair may be of concern later. |

is not a visible gap (or there might be gap covered by paint).
There are some other issues, I am afraid of the window glass cracking has
soemthing to do with foundation as well:

1. The sellers checked "No" to disposal, does that mean there is no garbage
disposal installed under the sink? Hard to believe.

tearing out the old frame, rebuilding the new frame, then re-do stucco. Make
sure your labor covers all that. The trims are just for looks,
weatherproofing your windows is what really matters, if you windows are big
enough, I would rather go with replacement windows on top of existing frames
. $20k for 20 windows? that's a bit of a stretch to be Honest, but hey if
you don't mind spending the $$, good for the GDP. |

当然都是single pane，不节能的。
窗户品牌就是builder grade的，当然也可以用simonton的entry grade凑数。
其实我对窗户很熟，就是希望知道消费者愿意付多少钱，两套房子一样情况下，一个换
了新窗户，另一个是老窗户，消费者会多付多少？ |

人窗户的。
本地那家特能忽悠卖的最贵,double pane比别人triple pane还贵。
HD和lowes价格差不多，我家的size大概都是5-600一扇，hd是simonton 6500，lowes是
pella 350。
本地有家窗户老字号，是卖anderson的低端和okna，我看okna review还不错，班上也
有人说过这个牌子可以，而且他给的价格最便宜。准备找他们装了 |

呵呵，答个疑。去年自住房在最低点做个7年2.75。房贷借了差一点不到50万。所以
mortgage 真不是大头，$20**/m, 其中800还是付的本金。$12**/m 的利息还可以抵税
什么的，税后就是$700一个月？是不是觉得很便宜？:P
反倒 property tax 我觉得是很不划算的一件事。如果不能抵税就更加不划算了！不过
德州的 property tax 听说高很多。我们这里一百万的房子相当那里30万的 property
tax?
弯曲的天气很好，不太冷或太热。utility bill 比德州，纽约什么的好很多。听说德
州很多住豪宅的夏天开空调电费就上千了。我家房子隔热层厚，顶上有阁楼，dual
