My friend told me that persimmon tree require cross-pollination. I only have
one persimmon tree.

今天收到 Persimmon Park 的email，说很快会有一批新房子出来。想看看版上有没有
熟悉这个小区的牛人。
这个小区的房子号称是detached single family，但是lot很小，这个到底是算single
family还是townhouse啊？
小区就在680边上，会不会很吵？
这个学区的overflow严重吗？

here. If you really want to grow Asian persimmon here, you can try to grow
it in container.
Interesting thing is I planted both of the trees you asked last year and
they all died this spring. All other 15 trees(Apple, Cherry, Plum, Peach,
Apricot, Blueberry, Pluot) I planted last year are doing well. |

is 49.98. If you keep prune the persimmon tree every year, perhaps you can
keep the height of the tree under control?

回事？”的帖. 因直接回帖马上就沉了, 没几个人看到, 考虑到或许有其他同学也有兴
趣, 或有类似问题, 所以另开一帖)
首先, 如果你买的是嫁接过的树, 一般2-3年就会結果, 五年是久了些.
其次, 你这只开花而不結果, 我认为不是施肥或浇水的问题, 而是品种的问题.
亚洲柿品种(Asian persimmons)大都不需要传粉, 较不抗冻, 而美国柿品种(American
persimmon) 刚好相反, 大都需要传粉才会結果, 但比较抗冻.
美国柿品种大都是雌雄异体(dioecious), 亦即一棵树上大都只开雌花或雄花. 这种柿
子花没传粉就不会结果. 我相信你的柿子就是这种情况.
至於两棵树都开花而不結果, 有可能开的都是雌花, 或都是雄花. 开花时详细观察一下
就可知道是不是这个状况, 若不是, 那就要进一步研究.
接下來怎么做?
1. 什么都不做.
柿子树开的花, 雌雄” 有可能”每年变异, 也可能同一年里, 雌雄並开.

from Mr. Zhou in Richmond. There is no leaf and bud so far. I don't know
whether the transplant on April 5th cause the tree dying or he just sold a
dead tree before growing any leaf.
Then I spent another $50 for a new persimmons tree which has the green
leaves in the attached photo. |

，很多东西非常精美，但仔细检查包装后，只能放弃，因为发现了一行小字：Made in
China。国内亲友希望收到的是正宗美国货。
在美国其实很难找到美国生产的美国货。众所周知，苹果机、耐克鞋上都留有中国工人
的汗水。当然，核心技术，产品质量，那是有美国人把关的。

我是个热爱户外, 喜欢在阳光下折腾的人, 平日里很少泡网. 去年春天, 偶然在老三
的一个帖子里, 第一次听到了菜版这个词. 好奇的找到了这个班, 并溜览了一下之後,
发现和果树相关的帖子极端的少, 且除了寒山大师之外, 也没有多少的同学谈及果树.
深感本应该也是庭院主题之一的果树种植, 在本班似乎还没得到足够的推广. 想想自己
种果树多年, 也摸索积累了一点知识与经验, 相信在这方面应该对新手能有所帮助, 於
是本著好东西要与人分享的心理, 去年五月也进了本班, 开始了施毒(白鹤语)的日子.
本班的同学们来自四面八方, 大家的成长环境不同, 但似乎大都来自凉寒地区, 对很多
水果, 尤其是可口的亚热带水果, 许多同学莫说吃过, 有些可能连听都没听过, 实在是
