求，却说考的越高越好。好不容易考了个TOEFL, 成绩还不能用。看来是很想让我先去

是要和人打交道的，personal skills和communication skills都很重要，只会做不会
sell充其量也就是给会sell的人打工，充其量也就到Apple的co-founder的那个角度，
给Steve Jobs打工。还有我所见的中科大的人很多不修边幅不注意仪表，给人第一印象
就是这种人穿着邋遢不尊重别人，人家公司敢hire你去和客户打交道吗？这估计也就是
中科大只能鼓吹出国考研率而不敢鼓吹job placement的原因。你看看美国任何一个大
学宣传的都是job placement,以学生去McKinsey, Bain Capital为荣，而不会鼓吹学生

但是稍微在网上查一下就看得出,Daimler 2009用50mm买了将近tesla10%的股份。
Toyota2010年用50mm买了3% 的股份。

发帖数: 23 | 28 各位版上前辈，俺去年冒昧发了个帖咨询了一下文科PhD在美国找教职的事（http://www.mitbbs.com/article_t/Faculty/31615797.html），得到了不少热心指点，甚是感激。现在申请结束，手上拿到了两个PhD的offer，关于选择哪个很是犯难，只好再次发帖求助，望能得到知情人士的意见，感激不尽。
两所学校都是各州旗舰校，名气排名都差不多。第一所在西岸，位置很好，是比较文学
系，去了研究中国电影，有满意导师，但文学方向师资不强。钱全部来自TA，要做个五
六年，有些辛苦。因为不是东亚系，很难有中文课TA机会，会是找工作的一大劣势。以
前的PhD placement不是很乐观，大概有一半都转了行，但也有找到top lac的。最大的
担忧是出来跟东亚系的人竞争会比较吃亏。
第二所在南方，东亚系，师资不错，虽然暂时没有心仪的导师。大概两年钱+三年中文
TA。由于在校期间中文TA比较多，将来找工作应该是优势之一。Placement record也还
不错。但偏纯文学研究，怕没有跨学科的吃香。

明白人，知道placement record最重要。但是全系的placement record没用，要看具体
导师的。第一个系也许找到工作的都是那一个老板的学生，如果你满意的不是这个老板
，你就瞎了。然后读博期间不用太考虑地方，反正到时候你也要全世界投简历。人文的
phd工资又是全校最低的一档，如果在加州的话你就穷死了。当然你要是和我一样是个
吃货，解放区的学校穷点也值。。。 |

于赶牛的那句，和我第一次找工作去会议面试时候的感觉很像。一群西装革履的博士生
，排着队像出栏的牲畜那样，一个个接受买主的检阅。我有过一次在宾馆房间的面试。
可能是他们刻意的安排，来的是一男一女两个教授。我自己感觉是比在菜市场(
placement area)面试气氛要轻松不少。不过完全可以理解女生对这样面试会有顾虑，
特别是来的只有男教授的情况。

说有呀，明天的时候同样在这个placement center另个B（代指，没说具体哪个公司）
还要面我，然后我就表决心，说虽然我还有面试，你家是我的top choice，对方就说没
关系，你多面，多比较
问题是，明天面我的B是个学校的position，A在面我的时候问过我为啥不去学校做
faculty而是来公司，我说不喜欢学校等blah blah，那如果明天B面我的时候让A知道我
找学校的职位（大家都在一个地方面，互相估计都能瞧见），会不会让他们觉得我在撒
谎呀？
说实在的，A家的确是我top choice，B就是我的backup，现在职位少，我怕万一找不到
工作难办，所以基本上所有职位都考虑。。。
大家觉得现在如何是好

感觉好诡异的说……
1)没有经过任何interview就说可以培训，之后还有placement。怎么会连interview都

2)打电话的MM有印度口音.代表GRAPNEL TECH SERVICES LLC. 但给我发信的邮箱是@

3)出于谨慎，我没有贸然寄。我提出，可以提供student ID card,或者OPT card影印件
。对方不同意，一定要I20复印件.见我不同意，提出先发网上课程的link给我，看了有
兴趣，再提供I20.可是下午又一个男的打电话来，说不应该贸然提供链接，一定要有
I20 copy,否则要收费（多少我忘记了）.还一再跟我讲，I20没有confidential的内容
，他们收了很多份了，让我放心……
大家有什么建议么？这是不是骗子啊？还有，I20是不是有机密的内容，会不会被利用？ |

650 spf + 75 balcony。还要大概一个月左右closing，目前我自己都没能进去看过，
只有floor plan和一些model units的网上照片。本来面积不大，厨房厕所的cabinetry
fixture都有了，我又想要现代简约风，所以一直准备自己买家具。可最近看了好多家
具，实体店和网上都有，但都找不到很喜欢的沙发和床，要不然就是特别贵，所以迷茫
了，这周末在HOUZZ上联系了几个室内设计师，问了问合作模式和价钱，仍然拿不定主
意，所以想问问大家有没有雇佣室内设计师的经验？还是都是自己DIY的？
雇佣室内设计师
Pros:省力省心省时间，整体设计比较专业，风格一致性。会安排家具的送货安装，所
以我不用一边工作一边操心。设计师一般能拿到家具折扣价，很多人说家具的折扣加起
来就算是付设计费了，所以总价格差不多。有些我不熟悉的方面比如wall paint,
window treatment, TV placement, closet organization，设计师会帮助解决。

掉了, 现在f2,想加入ld学校的保险, 结果人家说,因为我之前有保险 (保险结束超过30
天了),而且不是刚来美国的,所以不能加入. 考古了精华, 好像没有人遇到这样的情况,
