As in U Akron polymer science and polymer engineering are separate, so people
defined polymer engineering as rheology, polymer molding, and machinery for
polymer fabrication.
While in most other universities, the definition of polymer engineering would
include those concepts like functional polymers, polymer composites, nanotech,
biopolymers, etc.

I strongly suggest you FORGET those equations immediately.
You don't want to waste your time mainly on those equations and find you lose
the major aim --- understand the basic conclusions.
I suppose you are a beginner in polymer science and cannot get a Chinese
textbook now.
(1) Get Strobl's "The Physics of Polymers" or
Rubinstein & Colby's "Polymer Physics".

functional group的polymerB,两层mix的地方呢，可能还有一点复杂的hydrogen bond
and esteration interface
怎么表征这样的mix film？怎么确定某一层是-COOH还是-OH的那种polymer,而不是另外
一种polymer?
我先说说我思考和做的调研的心得（没做过FTIR,就是这礼拜和上礼拜读文献学习的，
所以可能理解还有不对的地方，如有，欢迎指正，谢谢）
1.hydrogen bond and esteration的问题都可以通过FTIR检测到，对比实验是纯的
polymer A and B,因为hydrogen bond的问题，C=O,O-H stretch vibration peak应该
都有一个红移现象，说明就有hydrogen bonding; A和B的脱水成酯呢，也可以检测，对
比是拿A+B完全成酯的物质做对比实验，通过检测C=O or C-O stretch vibration peak

Ordian's book is easier and there is one Chinese translation...
But that book is mainly about Polymer Chem.
There are another two books.
One is Fundamentals of Polymer Science (by Painter and Coleman),
and Textbook of Polymer Science (by Billmeyer).
and one polymer physics book:
The Physics of Polymers (by Strobl).
If you want to see some specific areas,
there are several classical books.

I have a silmiar problem, and the solvent is encapuslated inside polymer.
Here is what I did:
A polymer (Tg ~ 270C) with 1% N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) solvent residue.
This polymer can dissolve in THF, but not in water, methanol and acetone. We
tried purification of this polymer by dissolving it in THF, then

I need a polymer which has high viscosity but low elasticity. u know, it's
something like play-dough. I don't care the chemical structure of the polymer.
so, how can I get it? adding plasticizer to the polymer? I heard that using
plasticizer may increase elasticity. Is that true?

substrate and serve as passivation layer, the requirement
is the polymer should be long lasting against aqueous electrolyte
solution. Anybody knows what kind of polymer can do that?
epoxy based polymer maybe OK, but where to buy a thin solvent
epoxy solution that can be spin coated?
