上个月在这儿发过一个贴说有position open。回来update一下。
那天发贴之后我投了三份简历，傍晚就飞出去vacation去了。那天白天是周五，我正好
活干完了，才有时间在mitbbs陆陆续续回信，过了十几份简历。如果是平时的weekday
，也没时间做这些事。后来还有本地的ID问能不能帮他投其他SDE position, 我当时正
在机场, 没顾上回。下班回家一边收拾行李一边给这些人回email，上网填referral的
表格。其中一个人还说“好人有好报”什么的，其实我也不需要这样，是双赢的事情。
后来我给那人发了referral link，他还问我，你不是说你去投简历吗，为什么现在让
我自己填？言辞颇有点不信任。我说对不起我以前没怎么refer过，对这过程不熟悉，

track position是个过渡或非正式的职位,这点上就和postdoc一样.
另外:在你的例子中,那人为什么最终他还是要转成tenure-track? 像他那么牛的人完全
可以继续说我就继续当visiting AP,不想转tenure,学校敢不要他么.
同意您的观点,人的能力不能仅看他当前的title/position;但从多数例子来看, non-
tenure position就是比不上tenure position. 不能以一两个反例来否定一般结论. |

是这样的。不过具体到我考虑的这两个职位，tenure track 和 term position 的
teaching load是一样的, term position 也有department service要求，也参与招人
的过程。不过待遇上确实是比类似领域tenure track faculty要低一些，这也是我觉得
不太爽的原因。
我问这个，主要就是想讨论一下tenure track的意义，一般情况下tenure 当然是很重
要的，可是，tenure是不是压倒其他一切的决定性的因素呢？
其实，我现在的教职就是一个tenure track position,要混到一个tenure position也
不难，可是现在的学校对我没有吸引力，觉得很不开心，没有发展前景，很想离开。
所以要在我现在的tenure track position 和我说的 term position 中选择一个，我
倾向于选择后者。听起来也许有些太折腾了，可我真的这么想。 |

最近比较focus on money management，尤其是position sizing。
这里绝大部分都是跟我一样的beginner，基本上很看重入点，什么时候买最好。我转到
期货和外汇以后在这上面下了挺大的功夫，并没有达到原先预想的效果（包括SVM，
Linear，Non-Linear，Wavelets，HONN, Kalman Filter，这些可能以后会有一定的突
破，但现有的概念和理论，实践起来的效果并不会提高多少，甚至没有提高，所以投入
产出比不佳），加上我一年多几千次浅显的交易经验给我的感觉是，入点远没有想象的
重要。50%的正确率够不够？我感觉远大于盈利的需求。

工资，待遇，地点，学校，program,teaching load 综合考虑起来都是有利有弊。
没有哪个明显好于另一个。都是侧重于教学的大学。
不过
tenure track position: 我不是他们的首选，我知道是别人拒了才轮到我。
term position：我是首选，而且系里人对我相当不错。虽然是term position，不过据
了解，job security 也有相当的保障。几年renew 一次，也有promotion。
在这种情况下tenure track 和 term position怎么选择，请有经验的faculty给我一点

2)这个是组里新增的职位，老板人很好，而且该职位对以后职业发展很有帮助。
3)组内有一个contractor（印度人），也会申请这个职位。他背景较弱，硕士学位
+ 1年工作经验（在本组）。所以，你最好有相关的背景，如果是硕士刚刚毕业+
无相关工作经验，我觉得比较难竞争过组内的contractor

那天发贴之后我投了三份简历，傍晚就飞出去vacation去了。那天白天是周五，我正好
活干完了，才有时间在mitbbs陆陆续续回信，过了十几份简历。如果是平时的weekday
，也没时间做这些事。后来还有本地的ID问能不能帮他投其他SDE position, 我当时正
在机场, 没顾上回。下班回家一边收拾行李一边给这些人回email，上网填referral的
表格。其中一个人还说“好人有好报”什么的，其实我也不需要这样，是双赢的事情。
后来我给那人发了referral link，他还问我，你不是说你去投简历吗，为什么现在让
我自己填？言辞颇有点不信任。我说对不起我以前没怎么refer过，对这过程不熟悉，
我也刚去读了referral的网页才知道。
一周后vacation回来，发现三个人全部被recruiter据了。我立刻回信给他们说，对不
起我out of town刚回来，是什么情况被据？你如果还感兴趣我帮你投其他position。
三人全都没回。
