harry potter, i just had a glance, no comments.
LOTR, i would agree with comeon. but i would say, the language inside
is very elegant. I love the story, so, even sometimes there are a lot
of background discriptions or detailed paragraphes, But the whole
story still push me hard to finished it. untile everything is settled.
And after this, I told myself, I would buy more tolken's books about
mid-earth.

后重温以前的书和影片，我逐渐对里面出现的男人有了自我的评价，例如我开始喜欢
Pride and Prejudice里面的Mr Dracy，欣赏Sence and Sensibility里面的Colonel
Brandon，感觉这种类型的男人非常有魅力。这次看Harry Potter，开始欣赏Draco
Malfoy。
再重读一遍，以看小孩子的心态看他们的互动，感觉是还没有长大的学生们之间的别扭
互动而已。Draco一开始想要和救世主Harry成为朋友结果被拒绝了，由于他从小的优越
感让他将这次主动问好被拒的事情当成对Malfoy的侮辱，这让他不能接受，因此两人不
断成为仇敌。其实我感觉有点像小孩子的恼羞成怒，不可否认的是，小孩子的脾气有时
候是莫名其妙的。Draco和Harry就这样幼稚的针对直到Lord Vodemort的出现，Draco的

I，III倒是半途而废后来看完的。
刚看第一册不是太起劲，
一开始主人公以孤儿面目出现，且遭姨母姨父家虐待，
跟个武侠小说的套套似的。
看了一半转过去看II，才觉得有趣，
很多出乎意料的细节扣人心弦，
伏笔悬念不消说，想象亦是神来之笔，
II里头那个diary真是好道具，
Harry在一个看似空白的日记上书写而与过去日记的主人沟通，
如此想象新鲜出奇令人惊羡，
看书消遣图的就是这个意外之喜。
III我在书店里翻了一半觉得无甚特色，
买了IV回家看。
很长。
一个看过的朋友说哪儿哪儿的情节是多余的不必要的，
我倒没觉得，大概是给Rowling的魔法套住了。
最后Cedric的死去让我大大震惊，
这个Cedric亦是讨喜的人物，英俊斯文甚么的不出一般小说的范畴，
难得的是play fair，小小年纪却有老式的绅士风范。
按我庸俗的想法，
他作为Harry 的potential情敌大概还得促进Harry几年，
可--就--这么死啦。
又是一个大意外。印象中童话故事不会涉及死亡的。
当然Rowling说她不把这书归入特定一类，她是为自己写 |

我时常去一个讨论英文小说的网站, 里面有些关于harry potter的.
fleur会成为hagwards学校老师.
snape会fall in love.
此是作者在interview上说的.
所以snape不会在5里面就给K掉了叭.
当然你可以引伸一下snape会不会fall in love with fleur..
关于为什么很多读者觉得Ron会死, 因为book3里有个情节,
在圣诞餐宴上, 那个爱从水晶球和掌纹预测未来的女教授Trelawney说在座的共有十三人,
第一个站起的人会死. 大家当然都不把她的话当成一回事. harry和ron最先起身离开.
她一惊一乍的问他俩谁最先站起, 他俩都不清楚. 这个Trelawney神叨叨的没什么真本事
, 可是出于喜剧的效果经常阴差阳错瞎猫碰上死老鼠, rowling又擅长千里伏线, 不浪费
一个暗示. 5里harry肯定不会死, 那么噩运会不会落到..ron身上..
rowling说有可能让harry在书7最终局里挂掉, 如果那样ron也许不会死. |

US publisher changed the title to HP and the sorcerer's stone. A philosopher
is an alchemist, and Philosopher's stone is an imaginary stone which the
alchemists formerly sought as instrument of converting the baser metals into
gold. Socerer's stone means nothing though. |

Voldemort's superior ability went into his scar.
I do not see what Arcadian claimed happens. It just wont happen. The
series, although its most success comes from his popularity among
adult readers, is nevertheless written for children. The
kids may love twists but not twists this tremendous.
Just think what impact this ending will
have to a child who loves Harry Potter and Dumbledore, it just tells
him no justice and uprightness |

有些失望，尽管还是迫不及待的一口气看完，但感觉是目前五本
中最差的一本。首先说太拖沓了！近900页，可从情节上却没有
什麽大的进展，故事的主线也不够突出。不像前四本，每一本都有
一个非常明显的主题，比如triwizard tourament,chamber的秘密等。
但这本虽然叫the order of the phoenix，但却没有特别吸引人的
悬念，再加上这么长的篇幅，就显得有些tedious了。
情节上明显的漏洞大家又提到了，就是最后那个two way mirror,想不
明白为什么HP居然把这么重要的东西搁在箱子低一年不用，要不后面
去ministry of magic的混战也就不可能发生了。
不过最让我失望的就是越来越受不了Harry Potter了，这一本书从头
到尾我就记得HP不断的发脾气了，从Ron,Hermoine到Dumbledore,每个人
都被他吼过几句，当然一个15岁的孩子面对这麽大的压力，有些defiant
是挺正常的，但这样做多了就难免有点不招人喜欢了。。。尤 |

Rowling's books ever become a study subject of any English literature class.
However, many ordinary readers like me read primarily for pleasure, and we
like a fun book as much as educational or spiritually enlightening ones, if
not more. Harry potter books IMHO mixed fantasy, suspense and
interesting/lovely characters quite well, and have the power of urging a large
group of readers to read on and on without food or sleep |

我已经忍不住了。要憋死了。哪位看完了讨论一下? 如果你没看就不要往下看这个贴了。
这个horcrux么明显是这本书中最重要的信息了，但是还是half blood prince起名，可见
Snape有多重要。我还是觉得他是好人。虽然看上去他下了unbreakable vow用unforgivab
le curse杀了Dumbledore.就是觉得他们是一起演戏的。里面有那么多fishy的地方，而且
dumbledore说他确定trust Snape说了不下一千遍。不可能JKRowling把她最喜欢的人物之
一描写成自己打自己耳光而死。这象是最大的plot twist了，让大家下本书中发现half b
lood prince还是好的。可怜他虽然会得到Lord Voldermont和Death Eater的信任，要 |

你可以写一句话的LOTR, 一句话的Harry Potter...
我一向的观点是: Devil's in the details.
看作者怎么营造气氛,怎么铺垫情节,制造紧张悬念...
所以我对HP怎么成长,怎么对抗恶魔等等并不太关心,网上中译本
又糟的要命,所以看不进去.
后来读原版,才发现妙趣横生. HP出了5本还是广受欢迎,得非幸至.
