打电话到SHE+，说是因为不能charge月费
我看了一下BOA的CC，另外三个program的月费都在pending中，SHE+没有，可能不能当
时charge的原因是BOA上不了？但是其它三个program的月费都charge了呀
第一次加各种program，就遇到了这些问题，嗨。。。
希望各路大侠指点应该如何应对 |

Community College（比如说Santa Barbara City College，时间符合而且价钱便宜）
的Associate program（汉语叫副学士，相当于大学本科头两年）会不会太低而被移民
局拒呢？
于是我又思考申请一个UC extension的certificate program， 因为这些certificate
program所在学校（比如说UC Berkeley or UCSB）不错。会不会因此被拒的可能性大大
降低了呢？另外certificate program是不是要比Associate program要高一点呢？毕竟
他们的学费要比Community College贵啊。
现在我不知如何是好，恳请分析分析，出个主意。多谢！ |

上门家访。护士家访的时间可以是白天，也可以是下班以后，由你自己决定。每个州应
该都有类似的program。你可以随时退出，但是要加入program必须是在宝宝满3个月以
前。你也可以在怀孕时就加入。个人觉得非常有用。
护士除了回答我们的各种问题外，会针对不同时期宝宝的生长发展需要提供各种有用的

初来乍到，不知道发在哪个版合适，烦请好心人帮忙出主意。
去年秋天开始女友在申请加州的学校，上个月她收到California State Unviersity,
Long Beach (CSULB)的Master program的Admission，离我的学校还挺近，很是高兴。
于是在收到I-20之后就约好了5月16号的签证，同时把其他学校的申请都withdraw了。
谁曾想，就在我们准备签证的时候，今天早上收到一封International Admission
Office的email，说录取她的mater program被suspend了，签发的I-20无效了。我当时
立马打电话过去确认，说是由于funding问题，有几个program被暂时取消了。跟她们理

IB school here in St. Louis is just a school which will provide IB program.
Only small percentage of students in the school are attend the IB program.
Anyway, if a student can stick with the IB program, he/she must be a gifted
student.
If you are sure your kid will be in the IB program, I think you should go
ahead to accept this one.

，上过大城市的GT center, 还有一堆10分学区gifted program的朋友。
我觉得8，9分学区的gifted program最好。 10分学区的对gifted program
不怎么重视，大城市的GT center因为都是考进去的，就不再挑人分快班了。反而是8，
9分学区的GT program真正能给孩子最大帮助。

上就产生了两个Program Number: (1) P-1-000123; (2) P-1-000567.
在提交豁免申请时，提交了所有的DS2019表格。
收到DOS发出的FR Letter后，发现这个信上只提到了最近的一个Program Number: P-1-
000567。没有提第一次的Program Number。这样是只豁免了第二次Program，还是两次
都同意豁免？
“FR Letter上写到：

XXX (本人名字)
P-1-000567 (只有第二次的Program Number，没有第一次的)”

发帖数: 484 | 22 新人来湾区不到2个月，买了部二手的2007Camry，结果只有一把普通钥匙，不带遥控钥
匙，找车非常不方便。
Amazon花了60刀买了把全新的遥控钥匙，评价很高，网上我也搜了下攻略，可以self
program。
结果拿到手之后，试了半天，开关门，插拔钥匙，也没搞出来。后来网上又搜到07之后
的Camry安全性加强了，必须要dealer那边才能program。
于是乎，电话询价，Putnam Toyota说90刀可以搞定，比另一家locksmith的199刀靠谱。
极品的事情来了，到了之后，接待人员先是警告我，这个不是他们的钥匙，program失
败这个90刀照付的。等了一个钟头，又来告诉我，什么valet key要全部reset，如果遥
控钥匙program失败，普通钥匙也会不工作，那我就没钥匙了。用这个来吓唬我，来花
300多刀买他们自己的钥匙。我当然说，please try。
又等了一个多小时，告诉我说不行，没钥匙了，警告过我了，必须要我花钱买他们的钥
匙。我就让他们弄给我看，那边遥控钥匙cut好了，可以打开门，打开电源，就是没法

PM 的工作很杂，简单讲，除了 coding 与 testing 之外，所有开发过程中剩下来的事
情都是 PM 在做。写 spec，订 schedule，与其他 team 协调沟通，....
"据说 Program Manager 的技术要求不是很高。"
未必，看你是做什么的 PM。有的 PM 只负责做 build，这种 PM 基本上没什么技术要
求。但你是 PhD，这职位应该是有相当技术要求的。一般而言，programmer 对于技术
钻得很深，但 PM 则比较广，which can be a plus or minus depending on your
personal career goal。
“我映象中 Program Manager 就是整天开会，催人要东西，事情很杂。”
呵呵，别说得像个死老百姓，要学会一些大公司的行话（黑话）才能 blend in。这行
话叫做 coordination，你是 driver，你 drive 别人做东西。（Again，PM 有很多种

找工作。
看了很多好学校，要不就是不让employee上课，比如Stanford，要么就是没有专门的MS
program，都是研究型导向，比如Berkeley和MIT。
请问各位知不知道有哪些好学校有专门面向工业界的ms program？

目前我看到UPenn有一个MCIT program专门为非CS专业的人设计的，可是感觉UPenn是一
个很注重基础研究，不太注重工程和应用科学的学校，CS的排名也不高，不知道这样的

要求高吗? TOEFL/GMAT要求多少呢? 看学校网页排名TOP10,主要招本科是会计专业的。
本人情况:本科经济学，现已在一小会计master Program上了一学期,这个program虽入
学要求低,学分要求少（1年半左右可毕业）,因在大城市有身份的话也有希望能找到工
作。但LD近期要去Texas A&M University 做Postdoc,所以在想是否要重新申请Texas A
&M 的这个MS in Accounting Program，但不知是否入学要求高和学习压力大，因有2个
小孩所以要考虑下这个因素。
另：Texas A&M University 所在的College Station 还有其他会计MASTER PROGRAM吗

国内纯文科硕士毕业，美国纯文科Ph.D quit，肯定不想回去再读了，我们专业难毕业
，更难找工作。
目前有8WEEK大的娃一个，已经换成了J2身份在家带娃，有J2 dependent的工卡，可以
合法工作，老公的offer至少到2015,所以EAD能延到那个时候。
目前想转读会计了，希望能尽快就业，当然希望尽量快点完成专业转换，最好也不要花
太多钱。现在的选择如下，自己不太懂，希望版上的XDJM给提点建议，先行谢过！
1.读老公工作的大学的extension program，是针对加州CPA考试设计的program，好处
是相对便宜，不用离开现在的城市，能照顾娃，如果注册full time也能给I-20，将来
申请OPT找工作（不过不知道对于已经有EAD的人来说，这个OPT是否有用），不好是不
是degree课程，不知道对找工作是否有影响，另外，没有美国的学历，将来能否申请H1
-B办身份？（老公也没美国学历）
2.社区大学读个AA？——这样是不是学历太低，就业也很难？而且加州的社区大学也要

才发现这个项目夏季和秋季都不招生，要等到明年春季。后来又发现相同学校的另一个
校区有M.Ed. program，也能拿certificate，而且秋季就可以去上，但是需要两年。不
知这样不同的program出来的，一个是M.Ed.两年，一个是MIT一年，对未来求职有什么
不同的影响吗？有没有必要去花两年去读这个M.Ed.?
还有个问题是，其实这两个项目都不在本地，要带孩子过去上。居住的地方是个小地方
，没有Secondary Teacher Certification Program，只有K8的。想问的是K8是不是没
有什么侧重点，比如我想教数学并不能侧重在数学上，要什么都能教？毕业出来有机会
是不是也能只教初中数学？

的~
私立学校虽然没有强制的要求certification，不过也是喜欢有教师执照的老师。
数学相对【比较】热门，就和我教授说的是的，如果你有身份，有了教师执照的话 你
找工作会轻松很多，而且你有身份的话Math Edu的program也多会有一些fellowship 或
者奖学金。
如果你符合条件，你也可以考虑一下【Math for America】：http://mathforamerica.org/
有几个ｌｏｃａｔｉｏｎ～～你需要master学位的话MfA的 你就要申请 Fellowship。
全奖，还给生活费第一年。有问题关于MfA的你可以联系我，不过今年的Fellowship截
止过了。
certification的program depends，现在很多地方certification的program只要一整年
，比如NYU的program有个Fast Track，就是两个暑假+两个学期，一整年的时间就可以
certification的Initial的拿到和完成Master 学位。

是yale唯一一个全奖的两年的master program 培养数学 科学老师的，毕业了好像是要
求工作至少两年就可以了！
去年申请时候看Harvard GSE的 TEP的program也是 如果被录取了，数学和科学的有机
会被邀请去申请另一个NSF自助的全奖， 如果可以的话 也很不错的！
Penn GSE的 TEP 有 Teach for America。
不过这些program 奖学金对身份的要求很明确 你自己看看你的背景情况吧 |

1. Generally speaking, most Texas programs are not IMG (CMG ) friendly.

I applied only to Pathology residency programs last September. Here are some
information regarding program requirements I collected during last summer. I
hope it would be of any use for anyone who are interested in Pathology for
match 2010.
As I learned during Match, programs adjust their requirements every year. So
please only use my information as a reference and please do check with
programs you are interested this summer prior submitting your application.

I browsed through these programs and tried to find my fit. In the end I
applied to 91 programs.
Most of the information on the first work sheet was
collected by the end of last summer and you could see a lot was missing.
Please use this sheet together with the first PDF I shared. For those
programs with missing info, I emailed them and got responses back from the
27 programs listed in the PDF file.
The second sheet was made and used when I called programs by early December 2008.

发帖数: 103 | 47 These 46 programs (~50% of total number of programs I applied last year) only sent out invitations last year. I called most of them, if not all, by early December 2008 and found out that as long as I was not invited, the game was over with them.
If you wanted to be interviewed by any of these programs but haven't heard anything from the by early November, I would say you can call the program coordinator to ask about it.
Apparently I called too late. By early December, most of these programs have |

以前，CMG做Fellowship program director（尤其病理）时有所闻，但做Residency
Program Director 和Dept. Chair的并不多见。但近年来，也开始有了。我在此开个
头，大家可以往上加。希望这对CMG是个好消息。
在美in practice of medicine 的CMGs 比老印及其他国家医学院毕业生少， 有历史
，语言等原因，但印裔做program director and dept chair 很多，尤其是在东海岸(
like NY), 并有意无意收录印度毕业生或各自相关国家的毕业生，是不争的事实。
我当年做住院医时的Residency program director 是从孟加拉国来的，每年的新住院
医至少有一个是从孟加拉国来的，而且不少是直接从该国招徕并办H-1 Visa. 非常过分
，因为他是Chairman 的心腹（跟了二十多年，主任当年培养了他，后主任走到哪，就

pointed by Dok. Actually, you can receive pretty good residency training at
everywhere, with a few exceptions.
There are no official rankings for the quality of residency programs, and
any assessment will be difficult. If your long term goal is academic
medicine/research or a fellowship, academic programs will have an advantage
edge. If you like private practice, some community programs or private
