said the man was spotted overturned in the water Thursday near Hanover. The

今天出门办事,路上电池灯和手闸灯是亮的,过了会又变成忽闪忽闪了。没有太在意,
准备回家之后再做计较。结果办完事回到车里,发现车打不着了。还好保险时有加road
assistance。Rescuer来了之后,打开车前盖说,你的电池太脏了,这些dust导致的问
题(一些黄色的渣渣)。他给我jump start之后建议我回家把电池清理一下,还告诉我
一个窍门,如果我要自己清理的话,就用碳酸饮料来清洗。
然后我就开上了回家的路,结果碰上红灯的时候刹车,感觉车子减速阶段一顿一顿的,
绿灯后启动加速也非常吃力。上了lake shore drive之后,不巧碰上了小堵车,走走停
停,感觉车从静止到移动越来越吃力,似乎随时就再也走不动的感觉。没奈何,刚好走

At about 4:00PM, a 22-year old man was hiking with his 21-year old friend in
the Angeles National Forest when the 22-year old man fell from the hiking
path down the mountainside, and close to the edge of a cliff. The two men
are Asian-Americans from Temple City.
The injured man used his cell phone to call the desk at Crescenta Valley
Sheriff's Station and connected with Watch Deputy Steve Toly. Deputy Toly
spoke to the man for about 15 minutes until the phone connection was lost.

呵呵, 很多trained lay rescuer并不是专业的。而且你写的是给medicalpractice版
看的,有些东西应该改一下为妥。。。
还有几点很重要的改变:现在compression rate要at least 100 per minute.以前是
approximately 100 per minute. compression depth要至少2 inches,以前只要1.5到
2 inches.

Hiker falls to death in Buckskin Gulch
On July 24, 2011, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a
hiker was found deceased in Buckskin Gulch near the confluence with Wire
Pass. Hikers stumbled upon the man, later identified as Bo Tian, 36, of San
Jose, California. Tian had a permit to hike The Wave, a popular day hike

Back in early Spring 1998, I went hiking in the Denny Creek area with some
friends. The snow was too much for us since we didn't have snow shoes. So we
turned back. Ended up on Mount Si instead. Next day we read on the
Newspaper two MS guys fell into a ravine. Too steep for helicopters. Took
too long for the rescuers to get there. One of them didn't make it.

看完两架fighter jets, 慢吞吞来了一个大笨笨, 尾部还拖着一条细细的管子, 一看就知
道是加油机, 考证型号是KC-135. QQ鱼对加油机的初次印象是在电影Air Force One里头,
至今还是没有弄清楚那架可怜的加油机为什么在空中变成一团巨大的火球. KC-135 没有
现场展示它的功能, 倒是班门弄斧也左右扭了好几下. 慢吞吞地它走了, 正如它慢吞吞地
来.
我们的嘻笑还没有结束, 天边的呼啸又起,两个俊朗的身影双双从云端出现. 这两架飞机
的外形真的好看, QQ鱼猜想又是F家族的新秀吧. 结果颇有些上当的感觉,
原来是两架T-38 trainers. 不过上当也有上当的理由, 他们是eagle class的一员, 难怪
身姿风流倜倘. Top Gun 里头的trainer, 就是它们了.
Trainers很酷地左右翻飞, 上升俯冲, 动作干脆利落, 也算是一个阶段性的小高潮. 然后
就是一架rescuer直升机来打发大家的时间. 我们的位置离直升机很远, 看不见它怎么救
人. QQ鱼很想瞻仰一下Apache, 据说是美军攻击力最强的战斗直升机, 可是不知道是我们

your hope is that your injury is not serious, you have enough supplies to
spend 24-48 hours in the mountain, your partner can call for help promptly,
and the weather is not too severe for the rescuers to reach you. Often
times, you are in terrains where choppers can't even land. They can only
land on slopes less than 10 degress.

I am fine with whoever do whatever with their life or money;that's their
choice. But since such "reckless" behaviors may endanger the guide (though
they paid for the service but did they pay for the guide's life?), other
team members, and rescuers etc, I just cannot agree with such act and no way
respect the so-called "courage" or "determination".

an area close to Camp Sherman on Mount Rainier, a park spokesman said.

Living free at camp 4 is one the benefits, but they DO get paid by doing
rescue jobs. There are veteran rescuers/wall rats who've been doing this
for decades. Married couples with kid can be found in YOSAR as well. They
earn most of their incomes in the busy summer, thanks to a lot of fuckups
in the valley and Tuolumne meadows, and go climbing Chilean & Argentine
Patagonia in winter time. One of last year's issues of Alpinist featured
some YOSAR members. Was a good article. I've met a former yos

The ice season is here...Stay safe. Myself have friend took lead fall on ice
and broke his spine, and on a nother trip the icefall collapsed a few days
after I climbed it.

That 1500 ft drop was not that bad. The victim blew emergency whistle after
he fell to the bottom, which was a good sign.
I remmber that a snowmobiler who fell two years ago at the same spot survive
d and only got minor injury.
However, in this case, if the rescuer can not get the victim very soon, I th
ink his chance of surviving is slim, most probably he could die of hypotherm

hunting is a recreational sport in the US. most hunters I have seen are not
much better than couch potatoes. on the other hand, mountain rescuers are
very skillful and strong, at least those I know of in seattle and everett.
yosar I suppose is even stronger. teton has the best rescue team in the west
hemisphere.

Second this one. This is an irresponsible attitude. It is this attitude that
will eventually put too many incompetent climbers in the mountains and thus
jeapordize every one. I suggest everyone read accident reports in ANAM and
that'll give you an idea how much risk the rescuers put on themselves to
carry out a mission. All the reports on Denali and Rainier are very detailed
and well written because they are done by NPS rangers.

Err... My point is "fin" is not necessary or even not preferred by many
people on flatwater/openwater. It's hard to transport, it can cut rope
through, it can hurt the rescuer...
In flatwater/openwater, I think bracing techniques might be more important
than fins... Anyway, the statement "no fin for whitewater only" is not true.

last weekend. They are much poorer than I am and can't afford even moderate
gears. In China, people who can afford expensive gears can't climb and they

wedge的,你到了很高级了,很多很多时候你一样也会用到wedge的技巧,你有时候并没
有足够的空间让你来转弯和平行刻雪。
所以我认为一开始学wedge好处多。
